Claims. c1. 4-111 This invention relates to infants bathing devices and has particular reference to a bracket support for a tray located at one end of the bathing device with the tray conveniently located for containing articles adapted for use during the use of the bathing device. a

The invention is particularly concerned with infants bathing devices of the type which includes a bath tub mounted on a supporting frame having pairs of cross-legs at the ends thereof on either of which cross-legs the bracket support and tray may be mounted.

The invention comprehends a tray bracket of said character adapted to be removably and adjustably aflixed to the cross-legs of the infants bathing device whereby the tray may be removed from the bracket and conveniently and expeditiously emplaced and secured thereon.

A further object of the invention is to provide a tray bracket having means for securing the same on crosslegs of varying sizes in cross-section wherebythe same is available for use on different makes of infants bathing devices.

The invention further includes the combination of a tray and a bracket support for an infants bathing device having interengageable means for releasably securing the tray on the bracket.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, reference is now made to the following specification and accompanying drawings in which the preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an infant's bathing device provided with a bracket and tray constructed in accordance with the invention.

Fig. 2 is an enlarged plan view of the tray in secured relation on the bracket and showing the bracket aflixed to the cross-legs of the infants bathing device.

Fig. 3 is a side view on a reduced scale of the bracket in position on the cross-legs fragmentarily illustrated and with the tray secured on the bracket.

The infants bathing device on which the bracket sup- 2 port and tray are adapted to be mounted is of any desired character haivng a supporting structure consisting of a pairof foldable cross-legs and 11 at each end thereof. The cross-legs 10 and 11 at each end are pivotally connected together substantially medially of their length by a pivot pin 12. The cross-legs 10 are connected together adjacent their lower ends by a longitudinal bar 13 and adjacent their upper ends by a longitudinal rail 14. The legs 11 are connected together adjacent their lower ends by a longitudinal bar 15 and adjacent their upper ends by a longitudinal rail 16. A flexible tub 17 is supported on the longitudinal rails 14 and 16 and a dressing table 18 is supported when in operative position on the said rails 14 and 16 in overlying relation with the tub and is adapted to be moved to an 2,983,928 Patented May 16, 1961 out-of-the-way position in supported relation on the rear rail 16 so as to uncover the tub for use for bathing the infant therein.

The bracket support 20 and tray 21 are adapted to be arranged at either end of the supporting structure adjacent the top thereof in convenient position for supporting articles such as soap, oil, swab sticks and the like which are readily available for use when the mother is undressing, bathing and dressing the child. The bracket support 20 is of angulated formation in vertical section having a vertical flange 22 and a horizontal flange 23 integrally connected with the vertical flange along the upper edge thereof. The vertical flange 22 is formed with semi-tubular ends 24 and 25 respectively of arcue ate' formation in section which are arranged with the longitudinal aXes thereof converging downwardly corresponding to the downward convergence of the cross-legs 10 and 11 toward the pivot pin 12 when the legs are in open formation as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. The arcuate end 24 extends in offset relation on one side of the vertical flange 22 while the arcuate end 25 is reversely arcuate and extends in offset relation on the other side thereon whereby the arcuate end 24 is adapted to engage about the outer face of the leg 10 while the arcuate end 25 is adapted to engage about the inside face of the leg 11.

The bracket is releasably secured on the cross-legs 1i) and 11 by clamp means such as the clamps 26 and 27 which are mounted on the vertical flange 22 adjacent the arcuate ends 24 and 25 respectively and have resilient pads 28 adapted to be tightened against the cross-legs 10 and 11 respectively on the opposite side from the arcuate ends 24 and 25 to thereby fasten the bracket thereon. Each of the clamp means 26 and 27 includes a flat bar 29 to which one of the pads 28 is secured at the outer end thereof. The bar 29 is provided with an aperture through which protrudes a threaded stud 30 afiixed to the vertical flange 22 of the bracket to extend outwardly therefrom and which is engaged by a wing nut 31 for tightening the bar against said flange with the pad in clamping engagement against the leg. The bar 29 is adapted to be adjusted about the threaded stud 30 for disposing the pad in desired set position against the leg. It will be understood that the clamp 26 is mounted on one face of the vertical flange 22 while the clamp 27 is mounted on the opposite face thereof. The horizontal flange 23 of the bracket 20 is somewhat narrower than the length of the vertical flange 22 and extends outwardly therefrom substantially medially between the arcuate ends 24 and 25 for supporting the tray 21 thereon.

Riveted or otherwise aflixed to the bottom wall of the tray is a metal clip 33 having a downwardly oflset portion '34 providing a recess between the same and the under side of the tray in which the forward outer edge portion of the flange 23 is adapted to engage to dispose the side face 35 of the tray substantially coincident with the vertical flange 22. A latch member 36 is pivoted to the side face 35 of the tray on a pivot pin 37 and has a notched lower end 38 adapted to receive a threaded lug 39 aflixed to and extending outwardly from the flange 22 for engagement by a wing nut 40 to releasably clamp the tray on the bracket. 7

The semi-tubular formation of the ends 24 and 25 permit of the convenient arrangement of the bracket 20 on the cross-legs 10 and 11 at one end of the infants bathing device and the clamps 26 and '27 permit of the convenient securement of the bracket in position thereon. Furthermore, the tray 21 may be conveniently disposed in position on the bracket or removed therefrom as desired. This construction also permits of the convenient removal of the bracket and tray from supported engagement with the cross-legs for collapsing the infants bathing device.

While the preferred form of the invention has been shown and described herein, it is to be understood that the same is not so limited but shall cover and include any and all modifications of the invention which fall within the purview thereof.

What is claimed is:

1. In combination with an infants bathing device having a supporting structure including a pair of crosslegs at each end, each of said pairs of legs being pivotally connected together substantially medially thereof with the upper ends of the legs of each pair extending downwardly in converging relation toward the pivotal connection, a bracket for supporting a tray for receiving articles for use during use of the bathing device, said bracket being of angulated formation in vertical section including a vertical flange and a horizontal flange, said vertical flange having semi-tubular ends of arcuate formation in transverse section arranged with the axes of said ends converging downwardly corresponding to the downward convergence of the upper portions of said crosslegs, one of said ends extending in oflfset relation on one side of said vertical flange and the other extending in oflset relation on the other side thereof and being reversely directed whereby one of said ends is adapted to engage about the outer face of one of the legs of one of said pair of said cross-legs and the other end is adapted to engage about the inside face of the other leg thereof, clamp means carried by said vertical flange for clampingly engaging said pair of legs on the side faces thereof opposite said ends and substantially medially of said ends for securing said bracket on said pair of legs, a tray arranged on said horizontal flange, and interengageable means carried by said tray and said bracket for securing the tray on the bracket.

2. In combination with an infants bathing device having a supporting structure including a pair of crosslegs at each end, each of said pairs of legs being pivotally connected together substantially medially thereof with the upper ends of the legs of each pair extending downwardly in converging relation toward the pivotal connection, a bracket for supporting a tray for receiving articles for use during use of the bathing device and including angularly disposed flanges, one of said flanges having semi-tubular ends arranged with the axes of said ends converging downwardly corresponding to the downward convergence of the upper portions of said crosslegs, one of said ends being arranged to engage about the outer face of one of the legs of one of said pair of cross-legs and the other end being adapted to engage about the inside face of the other leg thereof, clamp means carried by said bracket for clampingly engaging said pair of legs on the side faces thereof opposite said ends for securing said bracket on said pair of legs, a tray mounted on the other flange of said bracket, and interengageable means carried by said tray and said bracket for securing the tray on the'bracket.

3. In combination with an infants bathing device having a supporting structure including a pair of crosslegs at each end, each of said pair of legs being pivotally connected together substantially medially thereof with the upper ends of the legs of each pair extending downwardly in converging relation toward the pivotal connection, a bracket for supporting a tray for receiving articles for use during use of the bathing device and including angularly disposed flanges, one of said flanges having ends of partly tubular formation arranged with the axes of said ends converging downwardly corresponding substantially to the downward convergence of the upper portions of said cross-legs, said ends being adapted to engage part way about the legs respectively of one of said pair of legs with said flange disposed therebetween, clamp means carried by said bracket for clampingly engaging said pair of legs on the faces thereof opposite said ends respectively for securing said bracket on said pair of legs, a tray mounted on the other flange of said bracket, and means for securing said tray on said other flange.

4. In combination with an infants bathing device having a supporting structure including a pair of crosslegs at each end, each of said pairs of legs being pivotally connected together substantially medially thereof with the upper ends of the legs of each pair extending downwardly in converging relation toward the pivotal connection, a bracket for supporting a tray for receiving articles for use during use of the bathing device and including upwardly and transversely extending flanges, said upwardly extending flange having ends adapted to engage part way about the legs respectively of one of said pairs of legs with said flange disposed therebetween, clamp means carried by said bracket for clampingly engaging said pair of legs on the faces thereof opposite said ends respectively for securing said bracket on said pair of legs, a tray mounted on said transversely extending flange of said bracket, and means for securing said tray on said transversely extending flange.

5. In combination with an infants bathing device having a supporting structure including a pair of crosslegs at each end, each of said pairs of legs being pivotally connected together substantially medially thereof with the upper ends of the legs of each pair extending downwardly in converging relation toward the pivotal connection, a bracket for supporting a tray for receiving articles'for use during use of the bathing device and including upwardly and transversely extending flanges, said upwardly extending flange having bent ends arranged with the axes of said ends converging downwardly corresponding to the downward convergence of the upper portions of said cross-legs, one of said ends being arranged to engage part way about the outer face of the legs of one of said pair of cross-legs and the other being adapted to engage about the inside face of the other leg thereof, clamp means carried by said bracket for clampingly engaging said pair of legs on the faces thereof opposite said ends respectively for securing said bracket on said pair of legs, a tray mounted on said transversely extending flange of said bracket, and means for securing said tray on said transversely extending flange.
