  • One of the embodiments of this invention contemplates a balloon retaining device wherein a ring is secured inside a creel can by a plurality of fingers which extend longitudinally out of the can and then radially outward to the can in such a manner that there is a spacebetween the ring and the can through which the yarn balloon is free to slide. This construction retains the yarn balloon inside the can until it is shortened.

  • a device for retaining a yarn balloon in a creel can comprising a balloon retaining ring adapted to be positioned in the can, and a plurality of flexible elements secured to the ring and extending parallel to and spaced from the side of the can, said elements having radially extending portions which are curved at the ends thereof for snapping over the rim of the can to hold the ring therein, said elements being parallel to and spaced from the sides of the can to provide a space for the yarn bfll') loon.
