IMPROVEMENT IN BATHS FOR TONING PHOTOGRAPHIC PICTURES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 3 2, 332. dated February 19, 1851.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, RUFUs ANSOX, of the city and county of New York, in the State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Bath for Toning Photographic Pictures; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof.
To sixteen (1(3) ounces of water add half an ounce of acetate of lead; dissolve. Then put in a separate bottle four 1) grains of bichloride of mercury. Dissolve this in two (2) ounces ofwater. To this latter mixture add two (2) grains hyposulphate of soda, which solution, when dissolved, becomes milky white. Then add this mixture to the aforesaid solution oi'lesul, together with eight (8) ounces of hyposulphai'e of soda. After shaking Well, add to the mixture two (2) drains glacial acetic acid.
