Int. Cl. B65d 81/32, 65/16, 59/06 US. Cl. 206-47 7 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention discloses a combination of a holder, gift wrapping paper, ribbon, and gift tags. The holder discloses a substantially rectangular shaped body with rounded ends having flanges between which the ribbon is wrapped, and includes a recess in the top for the gift tags, and depending members for engaging one end of two rolls of gift wrapping paper or the like. The entire package is covered by cellophane or the like.
The present inventionielates to a new and improved holder for gift wrapping paper, ribbon, and gift tags, wherein the ends of the rolls will be protected and also the ribbon and gift tags will be easily accessible to the user. The invention includes the covering of the entire ensemble with a cover member such as cellophane or the like.
Heretofore, various items have been devised for the protection of wallpaper or gift wrapping paper such as devices for serving as a holder for one or more sheets of wrapping paper, and a support for a quantity of tying ribbon or cord, and packages for wallpaper including a roll of border paper and arms embracing the rolls at the abutting ends. So far as applicant is aware, no one has devised a holder for wrapping paper, ribbon, and gift tags disclosed by the present invention.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a holder having a frame member of substantially rectangular shape with rounded ends and side walls, the side walls having outwardly extending flanges to provide a space for the ribbon to be wrapped therearound. The frame includes inwardly spaced members below the open top of the holder for receiving gift tags. The bottom has a partially open portion and semicircular members in the order of sleeves extend downwardly from the bottom to fit within the open end of dual rolls of wrapping paper.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a cover for the holder and wrapping paper, and to provide a device of this character simple and economical to manufacture.
Other objects and advantages of this invention will become apparent from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein are set forth by way of illustration and example certain embodiments of this invention.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the combined holder and wrapping paper with the cover thereon.
FIG. 2 is an elevational view of the holder.
FIG. 3 is an elevational view taken from the top.
FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken on a line 44, FIG. 3.
FIG. 5 is a sectional view taken on a line 55, FIG. 4.
Referring more in detail to the drawings:
1 designates a holder for the materials having a frame 2 and spaced side walls 3 and 4 and rounded ends 5 and 6. The frame is shown as being substantially rectangular in shape and has a partially closed top portion 7 forming a recess 8 for a purpose later described. The frame has a partially closed bottom 9 and both the top and bottom have outwardly extending flanges 10 and 11 forming a space 12 therebetween, also for a purpose later described.
Spaced downwardly from the top 7 and extending inwardly from the end walls 13 and 14 are inwardly extending shelves 15 and 16. The ends 13 and 14 and the top portions 17 and 18 thereof are cut away as indicated at 19 and 20, FIG. 2, and extending inwardly from the side flanges 10 of the top are ears or keeper members 21 and 22. Adapted to fit within the recess 8 and lie on the inwardly extending shelves 15 and 16 and underneath the cars 21 and 22 are gift tags 23 or the like.
Adapted to be wrapped around the space 12 between the flanges 10 and 11 of the frame is a supply of ribbon material or the like as indicated at 24.
Formed integral with and depending from the bottom portion 9 of the frame are spaced substantially semicircular members 25 and 26 forming openings 27 and 28 for engaging the ends 29 and 30 of a pair of paper rolls 31 and 32. The rolls 31 and 32 have paper cores as indicated at 32 (FIG. 4) and the members 25 and 26 engage within the cores 32. The ends 29 and 30 of the rolls engage against the underneath side of the partially closed bottom portion 9 of the frame 2. The semicircular members embrace the inside of the ends of the cores 32.
A covering member 35, such as cellophane or the like, is placed around the rolls, as well as the holder structure, to provide a neat package and protect the package, as well as hold the ends of the tubes together.
It will be obvious that I have provided a new, useful and non-obvious package for wrapping items for display and prevent soiling during handling, and one which may be made of various materials such as plastic, hard rubber, metal, or the like.
It is to be understood that while I have illustrated and described a certain form of the invention, it is not to be limited to the specific form or arrangement of parts herein described and shown.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A gift wrapping ensemble comprising (a) a holder, including a frame having side and end walls, a partially open top and bottom,
('b) a compartment in said frame open from the top of said frame,
(c) a supply of gift tags in said compartment,
(d) 3 supply of ribbon wrapped around said frame,
(e) means on said frame engaging the end of at least one roll of wrapping paper and retaining the roll on said frame.
2. The combination of claim 1, including a cover for said ensemble.
3. The combination of claim 1 wherein there are two rolls of paper in parallel relation, and said frame includes means depending therefrom for engaging the ends of said rolls.
4. A gift wrapping ensemble comprising:
(a) a holder, including a frame having side and end walls, a partially open top and bottom,
(b) shelves extending inwardly from the ends of said frame and spaced below the top thereof forming a compartment in said frame,
(c)' a supply of gift tags in said compartment,
(d) a supply of ribbon wrapped around said frame,
(e) a plurality of rolls of wrapping paper having ends engaging said frame, and
(f) means depending from said frame engaging one end of said rolls for retaining said rolls against said frame.
5. The combination of claim 4 wherein said bottom has a flange portion extending therearound and said ends of said rolls of paper engage against said flange portion and said bottom.
6. The combination of claim 5 wherein said top of the frame has inwardly extending ears for engaging and retaining said gift tags in said compartment.
7. The combination of claim 4 wherein said top and bottom of the frame have outwardly extending flanges forming a recess around said frame in which said ribbon is contained.
