Definitions
- This invention relates to a device for facilitating the removal of ski trousers or pants and riding breeches, including tapering wedge-shaped ski breeches and strap carrying breeches for ladies and gentlemen, although strap carrying mens breeches are seldom used at the present.
- Modern ski pants are usually made as strap carrying breeches made of Lastex or a similar stretchable material, whereby the pants have one contact area at the foot soles and another one around the hips. These pants are usually made very narrow and they are particularly narrow around the feet and at the hips in order that the pants should always have a crease and particularly because the foot portion inserted into the ski shoe or a riding boot should always stay firm similar to an elastic stocking and should not move.
- An object of the present invention is to eliminate these difiiculties.
- the device of the present invention includes a dipper which can be introduced between the foot and the strap and which is provided with a counter support.
- the device can be used with pants which include an opening for the heel as well as those which do not have this opening, since the foot can be introduced upon the dipper from the front as well as from the back, the counter support surface being correspondingly constructed.
- the dipper is made of one piece and includes a part adapted to receive the sole of the foot and a stepping part located at a lower level.
- the dipper and the stepping part consist of two parts joined by a hinge.
- the foot supporting plate adjustable to the extent 180 degrees about the hinge constructed as an adjusting screw.
- the foot supporting surface can be corrugated.
- FIG. 1 is a side view of a device constructed in accordance with the principles of the present invention
- FIG. 2 is a top view of the device shown in FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3a is a side view of a differently constructed device
- FIG. 3b is a side view of the device of FIG. 3a in a different position
- FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the device of FIGS. 3a and 3b.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 show a particularly inexpensive dipper 10 made of one piece and consisting of a substantially straight part 12, a step-on part 16 and an inclined part 14 joining the parts 12 and 16.
- part 12 particularly its front end, in the form of a foot sole, for the example in the shape of the usual shoe insert, and/or to provide a depression at the location of the heel.
- FIG. 2 which is the top view, shows that the step-on portion 16 is provided with corrugations 16a.
- This inexpensive and easily transportable device can be made of horn, plastics, light metal or any other suitable sufiiciently rigid material.
- FIGS. 3a, 3b and 4 illustrate a differently constructed dipper 20 having a foot portion 22 made of two parts extending at an acute angle 24 to each other, so that the foot of the user which carries a strap 18 can be conveniently manipulated to insert the top part foot portion 22 between the sole and the strap, as shown in FIG. 3a.
- the top part of the foot portion 22 can be provided with a recess for the heel.
- the foot portion 22 is connected by a hinge 26 with a step-on portion 28 provided with corrugations 28a.
- the hinge 26 makes it possible to swing the portion 22 so that the device can be easily transported.
- the hinge 26 can be provided with a wing-headed screw with two stops (not shown), so that the two portions can be swung to the extent of degrees relatively to each other. Then the two portions will extend parallel to each other, like two legs of a U.
- This makes it possible to use the device for insertion over a strap which is open only at the front and which has a closed heel portion, as illustrated in FIG. 3b. In that case the user places one foot on the step-on potrion 28, raises the other foot and moves it forward introducing the foot portion 22 between the heel and the strap. Then the only thing the user has to do is to exert a pulling force to remove the pants.
- the described construction can be made of metal, such as aluminium, but also of horn, plastics or the like.
- a device for facilitating removal of trousers having lower straps with either closed or open heels comprising, in combination, a member having an tion extending at an acute angle to said upper portion, a
- hinge means connecting said lower portion to said step-on part including a wing-headed screw, said hinged means swingably and adjustably supporting said flat elongated portion to the extent of 180 degrees to selectively place a free end of said flat elongated portion forwardly or rearwardly of said hinge means for removing trousers having straps with open or closed heel portions.
