use of children; and my improvement has for its object the production and adaptation of a three-wheeled vehicle for this purpose, and in which the body part of the vehicle is arranged to be below the axle, with the front wheel having its shaft arranged in a pivotcd stud that is provided with a tongue and tiller,

'and with the body partprovided at' the rear with a short tube having a b all-an'd-socket joint into which the end of a cane or stick may be inserted for pushing the vehicle.

Accompanying this specification to form a part of it there is a sheet of drawings containing four ligures illustrating my invention, with the same designation of its parts by letter reference used in all of them.

Of the illustrations, Figure 1 shows a side elevation of a baby-carriage containing my invention. Fig. 2 shows a front end elevation. Fig. 3 shows a rear end elevation, and Fig. 4 illustrates as detached from the rear end of the body part and in enlarged representation the pushing attachment.

The several parts of theyehicle thus illustrated are designated by letter reference and the function of the parts is described as follows:

The letter B designates the body part of the vehicle, which is made at the front end with the yoke Y and at the rear end with the side ears E, through which the rear axle A passes, and on which the body thereat rests.

The letter C designates the rear wheelcovers.

The letter R designates a side rail; W the rear wheels; S2, the seat; W 2, the front wheel.

The letterD designates a stud that is forked at a a to secure the shaft-bearings b of the front axle A2. This stud D at its upper end e is curved rearwardly, so as to pass over the upper arm of the yoke Y, and is pivoted thereto, as indicated at p', and the lower arm of the yoke Y is pivoted to the stud at p2, so

that said stud may be turned by reins attached to the tiller T, or by the tongue N,

attached to the outer end of the V-shaped brace, which connects where forked with the lower forked ends of the stud D.

The letter I designates a tube having a balland-socket joint J, the latter being constructed in and upon the rear end of the vehicle, so that a cane or stick may be inserted in the tube and the vehicle pushed thereby.

The ends d ot' the body part are made, preterably, to slope inwardly as they descend, although, if desired, they may be made perpendicular.

As thus made and arranged the vehicle is well adapted for the amusement of children indoors or upon the ground. They can get in and out of it with ease and without. the danger of falling, and it may be drawn or pushed, while reins may be rove into the tiller T and the vehicle guided by the occupant.

Having thus described my invention,what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. As a new article of manufacture, athreewheeled Vehicle for childrens use, made 'with a body part hung below the rear axle, said body part being provided with side rails, two rear wheels, and with the front wheel having its axle-bearings arranged in a forked stud that is pivoted to a yoke on the front of the body part, substantially as shown and described. 4

2. The combination of the body part B, constructed to be below the rearv axle of the wheels W and with the yoke Y at the front, the rails R at the sides and pushing-socket N at the rear, and the stud D, made with the forked ends a a to receive the axle ot the front wheel W2, said stud being pivoted to the yoke of thebody part and made with the tiller T, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
