Be it known that I, J ULIUs EDWARD Kons- -TER, of New York city, in theeounty and State Vmorees-pe'cially designed for heating or cooling liquids and arranged to'permit of convenientlycleaning the -coil to Aremove sedi ment, circ.
15 The invention consists of a coil comprising grooved sections and a division-platev or partition separating the grooved sections and having an opening for connecting the adjacent ends of the grooves with each other to `zo cause the liquid to rstpass through the groove in one section and then through'the groove in the other section.

3 5 The improved coil is provided with two sec-. tions A andB, and a division-plate or partition C, placed between the two sections to separate the same, the sections being connected with each other by suitable bolts D 4o for clamping the division-plate in position between the two seotions.-
In the section A, on the `face next to the division-plate C, is formed a groove A', preferably made spiral, as indicated in Fig. l, the
45 outer end of the groove being connected with an inlet-opening A2, adaptedl to connect with the liquid-supply. The other section B Vis formed on its inner or under face with a similar groove B', and the -inner ends of. the two 5o grooves A B are connected with each other byan. opening C', formed in the division or partition plateC. In'order to clean the coil, the bolts D are removed and the sections taken apart to expose th'e faces of grooves A and B', so that .l said grooves 4can be readily cleaned of sedi- 7o ment and other impurities. The parti-tionplate C can be readily washed to remove any impurities adheringrthereto. It will be seen that this coil is very simple in construction,

I claimas new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A coil, comprising two or more grooved 85 sections, and a division-plate or partition separating said sections and having an ope-ning'forconnecting the adjacent ends of the grooves with each other, and causing the liquid tolirst flow through the groove in one 9o section and then through the groove in the other section, substantially as shown and described.
