LOUIS LEGRAND, OF PARIS, FRANCE.
SHAVlNG-BRUSH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 611,969, dated October 4, 1898. Application filed November 4;, I897. Serial No. 657,445. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS LEGRAND, a citizen of France, residing at'189 Rue du Temple, Paris, France, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shaving-Brushes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention relates to a shavingbrush the interior of which is made hollow in order to permit the introduction of a soap stick, which is fixed by any suitable means within a suitable cover adapted to the shaving-brush.
The annexed drawing shows, as an example on1y,.a longitudinal section of a shavingbrush embodying the above-mentioned features. v
The body of the brush is made in two portions A and B, screwed one upon the other. The portion A receives the brush 0, which is attached by the ordinary means. The por tion B forms a hollow threaded space on one end and is fitted with a base D on the other. On the threaded part a cover E is adapted to be received, which is provided with a second screw-thread to secure the bar of soap F, the latter being so fixed to the cover E that both are removable simultaneously. This arrangement offers, in a practical point of View, the advantage of being very convenient, as the person who uses the brush can always have his soap at his disposal, and the latter being 3 5 inclosed in a case will always be clean.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- A two-part shaving-brush, comprising the brush proper, consisting of the ordinary hair 40 bristles secured in a suitable socket provided at its upper end with interior screw-thread and adapted to receive thereon a hollow handle B provided with a removable cover or cap E having interior screw-thread to receive a stick of soap adapted to the interior of the handle, whereby when said cap is unscrewed, the cap is removable with it, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
LOUIS LE GRAND.
Witnesses EMILE GRISSEUR, EUGENE BOULANGER.
