STEPHENH. HERRIGK, OF GRINNELL, IOWA. Lam Patent No. 66,340, dated July 2, 1867 IMPROVEMENT IN GULTIVATOB.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, STEPHEN H. B represents a metallic frame, situated under the beam, with its forward end turned up, and provided with a screw-thread. This threaded end E passes through an opening in the beam, and is regulated by the nuts a a, one beneath and one above the beam. This frame'B is divided, as represented, atits rear end, and each of these divided parts turns or curves downward, forming the shanks C C, upon the lower ends of which the plough-points are secured. D represents a threaded bolt or shaft,.which passes from one side of the divided frame to the other, and through the rear end of the beam. A nut upon each side of the beam upon the bolt regulates the set of said beam. By unscretv'ing one of the nuts and screwing up the other, the forward end of the beam may be made to set to one side or the other, as may become necessary in farming or gardening purposes.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-. I
The frame B turned up and threaded at its forward end, and connected to and regulated at the rear end of the beam by the bolt D, as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this llth day of May, 1867.
