APPLICATION FILED NOV. 17, 19021. N0 MODEL.

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS P. TAYLOR, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT.
HOSE-SUPPORTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 720,193, dated February 10, 1903.
Application filed November 17, 1902. Serial No. 131,678. '(No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS P. TAYLOR, a citizen of the United States, residin g at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hose-Supporters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to hose-supporters, but more particularly has reference to devices of this description which are permanently connected with a corset.
The object of my invention is to provide a hose-supporter which may be readily adjusted for use and is economical in its construction; and with these ends in view my invention consists in the construction and arrangement hereinafter set forth and then specifically designated by the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation showing a corset equipped with my improved hose-supporter, the latter being shown in detached condition; and Fig. 2 isasimilar view showing the hose-supporter fastened and in position for use.
Similar numbers of reference denote like parts in both figures of the drawings.
2 represent the front sections of a corset. 3 is a flexible pad, one side edge of which is stitched or otherwise secured to one of the sections of the corset, the remainder of the pad being perfectly free, it being immaterial Whether said edge is secured to the corset along its entire length or along a portion only of said length. At the upper corner of the pad, opposite the stitched portion, is formed a buttonhole 4, while a button 5 is sewed directly to the other section of the corset.
6 7 are webbings secured to the lower edge of the pad.
I have not shown any stocking-engaging members proper, since any devices of this serves to hold the corset-sections firmly at the front portion, and this is ,highly essential in obtaining the straight-front eifect which is now so popular.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a hose-supporter adapted to be permanently attached to a corset, a pad which carries the stocking-engaging members, one side edge of said pad being stitched to one section of the corset while the opposite upper corner of said pad is adapted to be detachably secured to the other section of the corset, substantially as set forth.
2. In a hose-supporter adapted to be permanently connected to a corset, the pad carrying the stockingengaging members and having one of its side edges stitched to one section of the corset and provided at its opposite upper corner with a buttonhole, in combination with the other section of the corset having a button sewed thereto, substantially as set'forth.
- In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
THOMAS P. TAYLOR.
