Be it known that we, ANDREW H. WEMPLI; and THOMAS D.RIcIIAnDsoN, of the city, county, and State of' New York, have invented a new and improved Blind and Sash-Fastener; and we do-hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable. those skilled in the lart to make and use the s ame, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

Theiobject of this invention is to provide a cheap and eicient Rfastening for outside' blinds 'and shutters and windows, whereby the same' are securely fastened byone operation; and the-invention consists in attaching tothe blind or shutter a hinged plate, either with or without a double hook attached thereto, by which the fast-- ening is eifected, as will be hereinafter described. x

Figure 1 represents the plate attached to the blind, and with the hoeken its inner end fastening the window-sash. I

In this conditionA the blind could not be opened Without raising the sash, and we design using the plate aloneas a blind-or shutter# fastening in some instances, or when other means are provided for fastening the window-sash. To secure-and fasten the sash, and to prevent its being raised should the blind be broken, the hook B is applied. Thereis a cavity in the window-sill, with a pin or: a. plate on it, underfwhich one end ofthe hook passes, While the other' end engages -with a pin en the sash", as represented, thus securing the blind and sash by one operation, and in a verylcheap and efficient manner.
