SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 763,513, dated June 28, 1904.
Application filed August 18,1903.
To a, whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HEINRICH SCHMIDT, a citizen of Germany, residing at Hanover, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fireproof Ceilings, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved fireproof ceiling of superior strength and composed of concrete floor-beams with embedded spirally-twisted iron bars.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a longitudinal section through my improved fireproof ceiling, and Fig. 2 a cross-section thereof.
The letter A represents a concrete floorbeam depending from a concrete flooring and provided with inclosed longitudinal spirallytwisted flat iron bars a, which constitute cores. These cores are loop-shaped, two of the loops being arranged side by side within each beam. At the ends the bars are anchored. to the walls in suitable manner.
