Description

PATENTBD OCT. 17, 1905. G. LAMBERT.
CABLE HANGER. APPLICATION FILED JUNE 8, 1900. RENEWED FEB. 24, 1904.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE GUSTAF LAMBERT, OF CHARLOTTENBURG, GERMANY, ASSIGN OR TO AKTIENGESELLSOHAFT MIX & GENEST, TELEPHON- UND TELE- GRAPHEN-WERKE, OF BERLIN, GERMANY, A JOINT STOCK COM- PANY.
CABLE-HANGER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 17, 1905.
Application filed June 8, 1900. Renewed February 24, 1904:. Serial No. 195,113.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUsTAF LAMBERT, a subject of the King of Sweden and Norway, residing at the city of Gharlottenburg, Kingdom of Prussia, Germany, have invented certain Improvements in Cable-Hangers, (for which I have applied for a patent in Germany, which application was filed November 18, 1899,) of which the following is a specification.
The cable-hangers hitherto used most frequently on multiple switchboards or similar apparatus were made either of narrow strips of sheet-iron or solid iron bars forming an open hook at their free ends. They offered the great inconvenience to easily let the cables slip out of their hooks, while their replacement was rendered most diflicult, owing to the rigidity of the material.
In order to avoid the above-mentioned inconveniences, I suspend the cables in endless strips of flexible material, each strip forming a loop and one loop being either inserted into the other or placed side by side. This arrangement not only prevents the jumping out of the cables, but also allows of an easy access to them and permits the taking out and replacement of cable without effort. It shows, Inoreover, the great advantage that any springjack strip may more easily be taken out and replaced than heretofore.
The accompanying drawings show in Figure 1 a vertical section of the cable-hangers as applied to flat multiple boards. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.
The wooden girders d have screw-eyes 0, on which are freely suspended the flexible endless strips a, interlooping one another and carrying each a cable 6. The flexible strips (4 being stretched by the gravity of the cables insure suflicient stability of the system, together with great flexibility.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. Cable-hangers for multiple switchboards or similar apparatus, consisting of a series of endless strips of flexible material, each strip forming a single loop and each loop carrying one cable, the loops being of such length that each subsequent loop is longer than the preceding one, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. A cable-hanger consisting of a series of endless strips of flexible material, each strip forming a single loop and each loop for carrying one cable, the loops being arranged one inside the other, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
3. A cable-hanger consisting of a series of endless strips of flexible material, each strip forming a single loop and each loop for carrying one cable, the loops being arranged side by side and having such length that each subsequent loop is greater than the preceding one, substantially as and for the purpose setforth.
4. A cable-hanger consisting of a series of endless strips of flexible material suspended on a hook, each strip forming a single loop and each loop for carrying one cable, the loops being of such length that each subsequent loop is longer than the preceding one, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
GUSTAF LAMBERT.
