siding at Lexington, in the county of Dawson and State of Nebraska, have invented new and ,useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a game apparatus, and one of the principal objects of the same is to provide a game which will be both amusing and entertaining, and will require considerable skill on the part of the players to become proficient in playing the game.

Another object of the invention is to provide a game of the pin-pool type in which the accessories are a number of pins, each having a predetermined value, and a plurality of balls of difieriug colors also having a certain value, and a central pocket inthe game board into which the .balls inay be rolled thence into a chance trough or runway underneath the board which will convey the balls to one or the other of the players, depending upon chance.

Still another object of the invention is to provide a game board which can be quickly taken apart and reassembled, which can. be

packed within a small compass, one member of said board being provided with a checkerboard upon its reverse side. 1 These and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the game board made in accordance with my invention, and showing the gamepieces set up in position for starting the game, and the cues lying upon the cushions in position for operation. Referring to the drawings for a more particular description of my invention, the numeral 1 designates the substantially rectangular upper member of the game board provided with a marginal flange 2 having a rubber strip or cushion 3 secured to its inner side. A concaved pocket 4 is rovided at the center of the table 1' an extending through said pocketis a tubular discharge opening 5. Indicated upon the up er surface of the table 1 is a series of paralle lines 6, 7, and a number of pin spots 8, said pin spots being numbered to conform to the numbers of the pins. The corner spots are numbered 2, the central side spots are numbered 3, and the four spots at diametrically opposite points around the pocket 4, are numbered 5, to correspond with the numbers of the pins resting on said spots, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing.

The pins 9 are shown in Figs. 3, 4, and 5, and may consist of the ordinary pool pins having the various designating numbers thereon. The balls may be differently colored, the cue ball 10, as shown in Fig. 6, being preferably red, and the object ball 11, shown in Fig. 7, being of yellow or some other distinguishing color. Underneath the upper board 1 is a lower board 1, said board having a central dome-shaped projection 12, and inclined chutes 13 which extend from said projection 12 outward to the four side edges of the board within reach of the players. The projection 12 is surrounded by a flange 14 which will prevent the balls from rolling over the sides of the chutes or troughs 13. The dome 12 is secured to the upper surface of the board 1 at a central point immediately under the discharge tube 5 of the pocket 4, as shown more particularly in Fig. 2. The boards 1 and 1 are spaced aparta suflicient distance by means of corner-posts 15, and the boards are detachably connected together by means of hooks 16 connected by a screw eye 17 to the board 1*, and to an eye 18 on the board 1. Any suitable number of these hooks may be employed. On the lower surface of the board 1 a checker-board 2" may be provided in order that this member of the game board may be utilized as a checkerboard Whenever required.

If the yellow ball is knocked oft of the board, the next player shoots, and the player who knocks the ball on the board receives no credit evenlif he does knock over the pin he shot at. The object ball 11 is permitted to roll wherevenit may and is not touched by hand unless it should roll into one of the trou ,hs 13 when it may be spotted outside the ine 6 by the player who receives it.

It will be obvious that the rules of the game may be varied to considerable extent, depending upon an agreement between the players.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a game made in accordance with my invention will require considerable skill in becoming proficient, that there is sufficient chance in the game to render it entertaining and amusing, that the game may be produced at comparatively slight cost, and can be packed within a comparatively small compass.

I claim is:

1. A ame board comprising an upper member aving cushioned flanges, a central concaved pocket having a discharge opening, and a lower member having inclined troughs, and a central dome or deflector, pins and balls adapted to be placed upon the table and operated by cues, substantially as described.

A game board comprising a rectangular upper member having field lines marked thereon, anda-central concaved pocket having a discharge opening therein, numbered spots and similarly numbered pins for said spots, an object ball and a cue ball, and a lower table having a central dome or deflector.an"d inclined troughs, substantially as described.

4. A game board comprising an upper member provided with marginal cushions and a central concaved pocket having a discharge opening therein, and a lower member provided with outwardly inclined troughs or runways, corner posts between said members, and hooks for securing said two members together.

5.
