To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWIN T. MARSH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display- Cards for Sample-Cases and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to display cards for sample cases, and one of the principal objects of the same is to provide simple and convenient means for attaching samples of candy or baked goods upon cards designed to be placed in traysto be used by traveling salesmen for displaying their goods to purchasers.

Another object is to provide a durable device of this character made of sheet-metal stamped up into the required shape to be attached to cards, and providing a prong projecting upward for the attachment of the sample.

Cards provided with my disk fasteners can be quickly filled with the goods and the disks can be used many times by attaching them to clean cards, whenever the card becomes soiled.

In carrying out my invention, I provide a numberof attaching devices 1, which may be readily stamped out of sheet-metal of any suitable character. These fasteners are provided with prongs 2 cut from and bent down from the body of the disk or projecting from the edge thereof. These prongs are adapted to be forced into the card for holding the disk in place, and upon the opposite side of 1 the disk a holding point 3 is provided, said point having an e argement 4 and a contracted portion 5 below said enlargement, forming a speaRhead-shaped member the purpose of which is teufnsure a firm holding of the sample in place on tfie disk. It will be understood that the samples afeTn .2 soft,

pliable or plastic material, and when properly attached to the point 3 and the material brought together around the contracted portion of the prongs, it will hold the sample firmly in place.

A sheet of paper 6 may be superposed upon the card by passing the point 3 through the paper, thus covering the disk and at the same time rendering the device available for use several times by removing the paper 6 and attaching a clean sheet whenever it becomes soiled. For attaching the disks to a card, I utilize a tool, such as shown in Fig. 4, consisting of a handle A, a boss B of a size similar to that of the disks, and provided with an opening C for the point 3. The tool may either be used by hand for pressing the disks upon the cards and inserting the points, or a mallet may be used for hitting the device and forcing the prongs into the card.

From the foregoing, it will be observed that my device is of simple construction, may be cheaply and quickly made, and provides a display card of neat appearance and will save samples and cards.
