IMPROVED CLOTHES-DRIER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and z'n'aking part of the same.
'Be it known that 1, CYRUs CARRIER, of the cityof Oswego, county of Oswego, and State of New York,
have invented a new and useful Frame for Drying Clothes; and AI do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, vand exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a longitudinal elevation. FigurejZ is a. perspective view. Figure 3 is a section of one of the arms detached.
. My invention consists in so constructing and arranging a clothes-drier, of a class to which it belongs, that when wanted for use, its arms can be adjusted and maintained at the same'angles of inclination with one another, and also folded by applying force to one arm only.
This object iseffected by providing for each bar, which is pivoted to a vertical spindle, a plate, with lips or lugs, marked C and D, one at each end.
y The spindle upon which the arms turn, passes through the plate, so that each aim, when spread'to a certain angle, will press against lug C, and stop. Each successive arm beingarrested in the sameway, thewhole num- 'ber may be arranged for use by simply swinging the ,bottom arm, marked 8, into itslposition.
The dogs A and B work in slots in the brackets, and serve to hold all in a radial position.
When folded, the lug D, at the other end of the. plate, engages the side of each bar, so that all are folded together by one movement.
Having described my invention,
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is l 1. The plate F, provided with lugs O and D, in com bination with the pivoted bars of a clothes-drier, as and for the purpose set forth.
2. In combination with the lamis 1', 2, and 3,; aud
plates F, constructed as described, the dogs or buttons A and' B, as and for the purpose set forth. :y v OYRUS CARRIER-L lVitiiesses:
