the two4 ends, 3 3, ofthe plate b extending down vertically through the appropriate slits, which are cnt 1 across in the beads 4 4,-and the lower edge'ofthe cap b at the same time resting on the upper bead 4. (See figs; l and'2.) l

The ends 3 3 are eachnotched at a point which corresponds ,with the line cfvdivjson between the two, beads .4 4, whereby the warmer BA can be readily secured in place on the burner by means ot a fine wire tied around between the said beads; or, if preferred, the extreme ends of 3 3.of the plate b may be readily bent to a light angle against the under side of the lower bead 4.

Itwill plainly be seen that this mode of construet ing, applying, and supporting the warmer of a ,gasburner is muchmore simple and inexpensive than any other heretofore used, while it -is' equally effective as a heater for increasing Vthe strength of the light of a bat-wing burner, by rarifying the gas and increasing fthe current of air for its combustion.
