Abstract

A new Dianthus plant designated ‘KLEDA26818’ particularly distinguished by pink flowers with a maculated pattern; and an upright and round plant form, is disclosed.

Description

Genus and species: Dianthus x allwoodii hort.
Variety denomination: ‘KLEDA26818’.
BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANT
The present invention comprises a new and distinct variety of Dianthus, botanically known as Dianthus x allwoodii hort and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘KLEDA26818’. ‘KLEDA26818’ originated from an open cross pollination from the proprietary female parent ‘DSA-2024-3W503’ (unpatented) and an unknown male parent during 2015 between May and August in Ashcombe, United Kingdom.
Seeds from the cross were obtained. The seeds were sown and plants grown for evaluation. A single plant was selected during June 2016 and subsequently named ‘KLEDA26818’. During September 2016 ‘KLEDA26818’ was first vegetatively propagated by stem cuttings in Ashcombe, UK. ‘KLEDA26818’ was found to reproduce true to type in successive generations of asexual propagation in Ashcombe, United Kingdom.
SUMMARY
The following are the most outstanding and distinguishing characteristics of ‘KLEDA26818’ when grown under normal horticultural practices in Stuttgart, Germany.
    • 1. Pink flowers with a maculated pattern; and
    • 2. An upright and round plant form.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS
This new Dianthus plant is illustrated by the accompanying photographs taken in October 2024 of a 14-week old whole plant of ‘KLEDA26818’ that was grown indoors in Stuttgart, Germany. The photographs show the foliage, buds, and flowers and the colors shown are as true as can be reasonably obtained by conventional photographic procedures.
DESCRIPTION
The following detailed descriptions set forth the distinctive characteristics of ‘KLEDA26818’. The data which define these characteristics were collected from asexual reproductions carried out in Stuttgart, Germany. Data was collected in April 2025 from a 6-month-old plant that was grown in a plastic greenhouse over the winter in low temperature conditions in Stuttgart, Germany.
