Abstract
Reducción de la metanogénesis gastrointestinal en rumiantes usando nitrato y sulfato, cuyos efectos, según se comprobó, son completamente aditivos. También se encontró que la administración combinada de nitrato y sulfato evita o mitiga los problemas de intoxicación con nitrito que se producen normalmente cuando se usa sólo nitrato, y dicho efecto se potencia adicionalmente, cuando es necesario, agregando un microorganismo probiótico reductor de nitrito. Por lo tanto, se proveen productos que comprenden grandes cantidades de una combinación de un compuesto nitrato y un compuesto sulfato y métodos para tratar rumiantes usando dichas composiciones.
