Abstract
La invención está relacionada con un método para la acetilación continua de elementos de madera. La acetilación se lleva a cabo con un medio de acetilación a una presión de al menos 1,5 barg en un medio ambiente de manera considerable libre de oxígeno. El proceso de acuerdo con la invención permite acetilar elementos de madera a un alto contenido de acetilo en una forma muy eficiente, sin que se comprometa la calidad del material. Los elementos de madera acetilados pueden utilizarse en la producción de tablas de fibra de densidad media con calidad superior como estabilidad dimensional y durabilidad.
