Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a plantas que tienen la actividad de un inductor de haploides que comprenden mutaciones en determinadas regiones de la proteína KINETOCHORE NULL2 (KNL2) en una planta, en particular dentro del dominio SANTA. Se proporcionan métodos para generar células haploides y células haploides duplicadas así como también plantas y partes de plantas correspondientes. La presente invención también se refiere a un método para la identificación de una planta en una población de plantas, donde la planta tiene al menos una mutación en la proteína KNL2, en particular dentro del dominio SANTA, que confiere actividad de un inductor de haploides. Además se provee un conjunto de oligonucleótidos para la identificación de una planta que tiene actividad de un inductor de haploides.
