Definitions

  • the invention relates to a catheter coupling according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Catheter couplings are known devices which serve to connect a longer, flexible catheter which has been introduced into the human body to another device, for example a syringe or a bacterial filter, after the insertion process.
  • another device for example a syringe or a bacterial filter
  • the end of the catheter protruding from the body is sealed and provided with an attachment through which the medication or the like can be injected.
  • DE-OS 31 02 142 describes a catheter coupling with a coupling! ungsgephaseuse, which has at one end a female LUEP. approach for connecting an injection syringe, usually with the interposition of a bacterial filter, and at its other end has a cavity in which a deformable clamping piece is located, which is penetrated by the end of the catheter .
  • This deformable clamping piece is compressible in the axial direction by means of a union nut, so that it tries to avoid the catheter surrounding it and thus clamps it.
  • Coupling injection syringes, bacterial filters or the like by means of the device described above is complicated and relatively time-consuming, since first the catheter end is fastened in the coupling with a union nut must and then the syringe or the like can be coupled via a LUER lock connection.
  • the vo ing invention is based on the hub to create a coupling that connects the catheter end with the syringe or the bacterial filter in a simple manner and thereby ensures a high degree of safety.
  • a particular advantage of this solution is the dual function of the LUER lock, in which the catheter end is pressed into the clamping piece and the device, for example an injection syringe or bacterial filter, is attached to the coupling piece.
