Abstract

Un module d'allumage électrique pour un moteur à combustion interne qui est alimenté par une énergie d'allumage sous forme d'étincelles à partir d'un aimant rotatif comprend un dispositif à semi-conducteur commutable par l'intermédiaire duquel du courant dans le primaire d'une bobine d'allumage doit être conduit. Une portion d'un circuit dans le module détecte le moment où la tension au niveau du dispositif à semi-conducteur s'approche d'une valeur maximale et produit un signal à ce moment qui commute le dispositif à semi-conducteur pour faire cesser la conduction. Un circuit à rétroaction positive est connecté pour augmenter la vitesse de communtation du dispositif à semi-condcteur. Le dispositif à semi-conducteur est protégé contre les tensions à courant alternatif d'une polarité opposée à celle du sens de conduction du dispositif à semi-conducteur, lequel fait avancer le temps de commutation en réponse à des tensions accrues associées à une vitesse élevée du moteur. Une résistance sensible à la température commande l'avance de l'étincelle dans un moteur chaud, réduisant ainsi la quantité de l'avance pour permettre de redémarrer le moteur si ce dernier est arrêté pendant un bref instant.
