Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for reducing wind noise in motor vehicles with a fixed or foldable windshield frame and an adjoining convertible top, with a plate covering the transition between the windshield frame and the convertible top, which is fastened to the windshield frame by means of a fastening device.
- a convertible top for convertible vehicles is known with a front convertible top rod to which the front edge of the convertible top cover is attached. Furthermore, this known convertible top has an intermediate piece which, when the convertible top is closed, lies between the front convertible top rod and the windbreak disc frame is located. This intermediate piece is permanently connected with its rear edge to the top rod and the top cover and comes into sealing contact with its front edge with the windshield frame. In this previously known convertible top, the closing point of the convertible top is accordingly formed by the front edge of the intermediate piece, so that an accurate and tight connection of the convertible top to the windshield frame is to be achieved regardless of the properties of the convertible top cover.
- the object of the invention is to create a generic device which sufficiently reduces the noise generated by the wind, eliminates dismantling before opening the convertible top or assembly after closing the convertible top, which is easier to assemble on a convertible without having to make structural changes to the convertible top and which is inexpensive to manufacture.
- the plate is arranged on the fastening device such that it can be pivoted and that the plate has an actuating device which can be actuated by means of the convertible top and which by means of which the plate can be moved between two end positions when open or closed is movable when the convertible top is closed.
- a device designed according to the invention has the advantage that the gap existing between the convertible top and the windshield frame when the convertible top is closed is covered and therefore no swirling of the airstream can take place in this gap.
- the actuating device is operated, whereby the panel moves from its first end position when the convertible top is closed to its second end position when the convertible top is open. netem convertible top is folded and at the same time releases the convertible top so that the convertible top can be opened unhindered.
- a pivot axis is arranged between the plate and the device. This achieves a high degree of stability of the device, in particular the connection between the plate and the fastening device, the fastening device being designed in a plate shape in a particularly advantageous manner and having two approaches for fastening to the windshield frame.
- an energy store is arranged between the plate and the fastening device, which holds the plate in its first end position when the top is open and is pretensioned when the convertible top is closed.
- the energy accumulator is advantageously designed as a spring.
- the energy accumulator has also proven to be advantageous to design the energy accumulator as a torsion spring integrated in the pivot axis. In this way, a space-saving integration of the energy accumulator into the device is achieved.
- the plate can be moved into its second end position when the convertible top is open, against the restoring force of the energy accumulator, against the restoring force of the energy accumulator, which plate also assumes when the convertible top is closed.
- This configuration prevents the vehicle line from being influenced by a device that is retrofitted to the vehicle.
- the front surface facing the vehicle is not enlarged or only insignificantly in this way.
- the device is advantageously actuated by an actuating device designed as a lever, which is arranged on the underside of the plate.
- This lever is in particular L-shaped and is attached to the plate with its shorter leg.
- the lever in accordance with a receptacle for the convertible top arranged on the windshield frame. Furthermore, it is particularly advantageous if, according to a further feature of the invention, the lever extends over the entire length of the plate and forms a receptacle for the convertible top with the plate. This results in a uniform loading of the plate, which is good Sealing the transition between the convertible top and windshield frame ensures. This design also prevents an uneven support of the plate on the convertible top.
- a reliable function of the device in particular a reliable interaction of the convertible top and the device when the convertible top is closed, is advantageously achieved in a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention in that the length of the lever extending in the direction of travel is greater than that in the same direction Directional length of the plate.
- the lever protruding over the plate forms a support for the lowering convertible top, so that the advantageously U-shaped receptacle for the convertible top between the plate and lever securely engages around the edge of the convertible top facing the windshield frame.
- a reduction in the driving noise generated by the driving wind is achieved in that the plate and the fastening device are covered by a common cover which is movably arranged on the fastening device. This creates a smooth surface, which also covers the hinge point between the plate and the fastening device. This cover also serves to protect the hinge point between the plate and the fastening device.
- a structurally simple configuration of the cover advantageously results from the cover being designed as a rigid film.
- the plate has a fixed web on each side, which covers the side surfaces of the convertible top in the closed state.
- the device according to the invention can accordingly be provided during the production of the motor vehicle. Corresponding assembly work and associated connecting means, such as screws or the like, are therefore dispensed with.
- At least one fastening device is arranged on the underside of the plate, with which the plate on the end of the Convertible top can be clamped.
- a device designed in this way has the advantage that the gap existing between the convertible top and the windshield frame when the convertible top is closed is covered and therefore there can be no swirling of the airstream in this gap.
- the device according to the invention according to the second solution is clamped in a simple manner on the front edge of the convertible top.
- the device according to the invention according to the second solution there is the advantage that the device is detachably attached to the convertible top and that the device can be attached in a simple manner to convertible tops which lie in corresponding receptacles on the windshield frame without any design change on the Convertible top made or the convertible top must be completely replaced.
- the fastening device is designed as an essentially L-shaped angle element. In this way, a device which is simple in terms of production technology is created and can be produced inexpensively.
- a secure attachment of the device is achieved in a simple manner in that the attachment device consists of an elastic plastic.
- the device is fastened to the convertible top in such a way that the fastening device engages under the front edge of the convertible top, the holding forces being achieved by the clamping action of the elastic plastic.
- the plate and fastening device running antiparallel in the disassembled state of the device are moved in opposite directions, so that the fastening device made of elastic plastic is pretensioned. After the device has been pushed onto the front edge of the convertible top, the pretensioning causes the fastening device to assume its original position and generate the clamping forces necessary for fastening the device.
- the fastening device consists of a tube fastened to the plate, in which a clamping element which is essentially L-shaped is arranged so as to be axially movable.
- This device has the advantage that the fastening device can be adapted to various roof structures, in particular with regard to the thickness of the front edges of these roof structures.
- the clamping element is advantageously height-adjustable by means of a screw connection between the outer surface of the clamping element and the inner surface of the tube. In this way, a simple and exact adjustment of the required distance between the plate and the clamping element is achieved.
- an energy store is arranged between the tube and the clamping element.
- this energy accumulator is designed as a tension spring and offers the advantage that the tension spring automatically adjusts the distance between the plate and the clamping element. This also improves the fastening of the device to the convertible top, since the pretension of the tension spring is correspondingly large during assembly.
- a secure attachment of the device according to the invention in accordance with the second solution is advantageously achieved in that several, preferably three attachment devices are arranged on the underside of the plate. According to a further feature of the invention, these fastening devices are arranged at the same distance from one another.
- the L-shaped angle element serving as the fastening device has a length which essentially corresponds to the length of the plate. This feature achieves particularly good fastening of the device to the convertible top.
