Definitions
- the invention relates to a surge arrester for high or medium voltage
- surge arresters To control overvoltages in high or medium voltage systems, it is known to use surge arresters. Such surge arresters have a non-linear resistance characteristic, so that voltage increases that exceed a predefinable value are limited.
- Metal oxide in particular Zmkoxid (ZnO) is preferably used as the material for the arresters.
- ZnO Zmkoxid
- a corresponding number of ZnO disks are stacked on top of one another and housed in a tubular housing.
- the invention is based on the object of specifying a surge arrester in which an error state can be signaled.
- the surge arrester now has signaling means which, in the event of a fault, allow the fault state to be signaled.
- An on-site inspection of the voltage arrester is no longer absolutely necessary.
- the conductor serves as a breaking point designed as a signaling contact.
- the conductor can comprise a contact arrangement which can be released for interruption. The function of the signaling contact is established by simple, easily available means.
- the surge arrester preferably has a contact arrangement which comprises a plug and a socket part. One part can be firmly connected to the housing and the other part can be free. This provides a signaling contact that can be restored and implemented with standard components.
- the contact arrangement is preferably on a first free one
- End region or end of the housing arranged. This applies in particular to the design of the surge arrester with a tubular housing.
- the attachment of the contact arrangement is particularly easy. It is advantageous if the first end region is formed by a base plate. Possibly. can also be designed in its dimensioning as a predetermined breaking point, so that when the surge arrester bursts, the signaling contact formed is specifically opened and thus responds.
- the housing with its second end region can be fixedly attached to a switchgear assembly and the free part can be connected to the second end region or the switchgear assembly at least at a predeterminable distance.
- the surge arrester can be fastened to a connection pot of the respective switchgear with end-side fastening means.
- a signaling line connected to a signaling device is then electrically connected to the conductor. In the event of an error, an interruption then takes place.
- the figure shows a basic illustration of a cable connection pot 1 of a medium-voltage switchgear in a combined side and sectional view.
- Reference number 3 denotes a connection end of an encapsulation 3 of a gas-insulated switchgear part which ends in a bottom area 4 of a switchgear (not shown in more detail).
- Reference numbers 9 designate plug connections for cable connections or plugs 11, with the aid of which cables 13 can be connected to the switchgear assembly.
- the plug connections 9 are generally standardized.
- a tubular surge arrester 17 is connected to the latter via a connection pot 15.
- the surge arrester 17 is designed in accordance with the prior art and has a tubular shape. It essentially comprises a tubular housing 19, which is preferably made of metal. Abieiter disks, not shown in detail, are arranged in a stack in its interior. The conductor stack is contacted at the free first end 20 of the conductor 17 with the first end region, which is connected to earth via an additional line or via the metallic housing 19 and the metallic base plate 21 of the cable connection pot 1. In this way, overvoltages can now be derived from conductor 7 to earth.
- a conductor which in the present case is formed by a contact arrangement 23.
- One part of the contact arrangement 23, in particular the plug 25, is firmly connected to the bottom 27 of the surge arrester 17.
- the socket 29 arranged on the plug 25 is electrically connected to a signaling device 31.
- the contact arrangement 23 is released when the surge arrester 17 changes mechanically, so that the signaling contact 31 can be signaled by the signaling contact which is thereby opened.
- the socket 29 is mechanically connected to the base plate 21 or the second end 22 via its connecting cable 33.
- this connection can also be done by another fastening option, e.g. a rod or a flexible connection.
- the socket 29 is thus connected to the base 21 at a predeterminable distance. If the surge arrester 17 is destroyed, in particular in the event of an explosion, the plug 25 is moved away from the base plate 21, so that the contact arrangement 23 is released. This is recorded in the message system.
- the contact arrangement 23 can also be formed by another conductor arranged in the first end region 19, which performs the function of the signaling contact.
- a conductor glued onto the first end 19 fulfills this function, which is connected on the one hand to earth and on the other hand to the signaling device 31.
- This version also requires a mechanical connection of the conductor to the floor.
- the present signaling device 31 has, for example, a signaling relay 35 with an associated contact clock 37, which activates a lamp 39.
- the contact 37 electrically connects the illuminant to a voltage source U.
- the signaling relay 35 is energized in the idle state, the contact 37 being open.
- the signaling relay 35 drops out, as a result of which the circuit for the illuminant 39 is closed.
- the present idea is suitable for surge arresters in high- or medium-voltage systems, with a particularly simple measure, namely merely the arrangement of a detachable contact arrangement or a separable conductor in a destructible area of the surge arrester, enabling the generation of an error signal.
- the surge arrester can remain structurally unchanged. This provides a particularly inexpensive improvement for the arrester. It is of course also possible to retrofit existing systems with such signaling means.
