In this example this would mean that a user 2 la in the first zone 23 would be identified by its - number (or logical name) together with the number (or logical name) of the zone, for example 23.21a or another well-defined format. The user might keep this name even when he moved to another zone, or the zone name might be changed.
  • the gatekeeper 25' then informs the zone management means 27 that the subscriber is now found in the zone 23 ' of this gatekeeper 25'.
  • the signalling is performed according to Figure 5 A.
  • the user 21a must disconnect from the first gatekeeper 25, as shown in Figure 5B, before connecting to the new gatekeeper 25 '.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'établir des communications entre deux abonnés dans un réseau basé sur un protocole Internet (IP). Ce réseau est divisé en zones, ou sous-réseaux, chacune étant gérée par un gardien de passerelle (15, 15'; 25, 25'). Tous les gardiens de passerelles sont reliés à un moyen de gestion de zone (17; 27) qui actualise les informations concernant les adresses logiques de tous les terminaux (11, 11') des utilisateurs. Un premier utilisateur (11) qui appartient à une première zone (13) gérée par un premier gardien de passerelle et qui souhaite établir une communication avec un autre utilisateur (11') d'une autre zone (13') gérée par un second gardien de passerelle (15'), envoie une demande au premier gardien de passerelle (15) qui la transmet au moyen de gestion de zone (17). Le moyen de gestion de zone (17) demande l'adresse du second gardien de passerelle (15') et renvoie une confirmation d'adresse pour permettre l'établissement de la communication.
