Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure member with an intermediate seal, which consists of a deformable sheet-like material, for bottles with carbonated liquids.
  • the intermediate seal is fastened to the mouth of the bottle, but not to the actual closure member, and is removed by the internal pressure of the bottle when the closure member is removed.
  • closure members for bottles with carbonated liquids are characterized in that these closure members must ensure that both the gaseous and liquid components remain in the bottle.
  • a conventional closure member e.g. The bottle is already fully open when uncorking, flipping the swing top or removing the bottle cap.
  • Opening the bottle especially with champagne bottles, leads to the release of gaseous C02 when the internal pressure is increased. This is often associated with an uncontrolled and undesirable fluid leakage. So far, this can only be avoided by not subjecting the closed bottle to vibrations before opening it, or by reducing the pressure by controlled handling of the closure.
  • the invention is based on the object of being able to open pressurized bottles without any particular manual dexterity, without this resulting in an undesired leakage of liquid

  • This intermediate seal is located inside the bottle neck when the bottle is closed. After the closure member has been removed, the bottle is not finally opened by this intermediate seal.
  • stage 1 The process of pressure reduction referred to as stage 1 is initiated by removing the closure member.
  • the contents of the bottle and the environment are still separated by the intermediate seal at this point. Due to its deformability or its shape, it is able to inflate or expand and thereby keep the bottle closed during the process of reducing the pressure.
  • the intermediate seal is suddenly pulled out of the bottle neck due to the internal pressure and filled with C02. Any liquid that is carried away by C02 is collected. After the process has calmed down, the liquid can flow back into the bottle, while the C02-filled balloon continues to close the bottle, but the pressure difference between the contents of the bottle and the environment is reduced by the swelling and the associated increase in volume.
  • the intermediate seal is suddenly pulled out of the bottle interior. If filling material has been inserted between the closure element and the intermediate seal, this is also thrown out. In this way, the shock wave created by the pressure drop is used as the driving force for an additional visual effect.

  • Fig.2 shows how the intermediate seal (3) was pushed out and expanded like a balloon depending on the pressure drop. Since this process takes place suddenly, the filling material formerly enclosed by the intermediate seal and the cork is thrown out (4). The contents of the bottle are still separated from the environment by the intermediate seal. The liquid entrained by the CO2 cannot escape into the environment.
  • This process increases the volume of the still closed bottle interior (6), which now includes the bottle contents and the space formed by the inverted, inflated intermediate seal.
  • the liquid that was entrained in the balloon-like inflated intermediate seal can flow back into the bottle after the process has calmed down.
  • the bottle can finally be opened by simply pulling off the intermediate seal (3) from the bottle head (7).
