Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a control device and a control method for an engine including a fuel injection valve for directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber.
  • stratified combustion is executed to improve fuel efficiency.
  • the fuel concentration around the spark plug is increased to improve ignitability, and combustion is performed in a state where the average air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber is higher than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.
  • fuel is injected into the combustion chamber during the compression stroke of the engine. Injected fuel is collected around the spark plug when it strikes a depression in the top of the piston.
  • the mixture of the collected fuel and the air in the combustion chamber is ignited by a spark plug .
  • the combustion method of the engine is switched between homogeneous combustion and stratified combustion depending on the operating state of the engine. By switching the fuel consumption can be improved Enough engine output can be obtained. ⁇
  • Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 10-1765687 discloses an apparatus for supplying high-pressure fuel to a fuel injection valve.
  • the fuel delivered from the fuel tank by a low pressure pump is pressurized by a high pressure pump. Pressurized fuel is supplied to the fuel injection valve. Therefore, the fuel injection valve can directly inject fuel into the high-pressure combustion chamber.
  • the operation of the high-pressure pump is stopped and the fuel injection is performed based on the pressure of the fuel sent from the low-pressure pump.
  • Fuel injection is performed from the valve.
  • the pressure of the fuel delivered from the low pressure pump is lower than the pressure of the fuel delivered from the high pressure pump. Therefore, in order to obtain the required fuel injection amount, the fuel injection time must be prolonged by the lower fuel pressure.
  • the period during which fuel can be injected into the combustion chamber is limited. Therefore, when the fuel injection time becomes long, it becomes difficult to complete the fuel injection within a limited injection period.
  • the injection period becomes shorter as the engine speed increases, and the fuel injection time needs to be longer as the engine load increases. . Therefore, it becomes more difficult to complete the fuel injection during the injection possible period. If the fuel injection cannot be completed during the injection period, the fuel amount in the combustion chamber will not reach the required value, and the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture will be larger than the appropriate value. In this case, the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber does not ignite reliably, and a misfire may occur. In the event of a misfire, the unburned mixture is sent out of the combustion chamber into the exhaust passage of the engine. When the air-fuel mixture burns due to the heat of the exhaust passage, the exhaust purification catalyst provided in the exhaust passage is overheated and damaged.
  • the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide an engine control device and a control method capable of preventing occurrence of misfire when an abnormality occurs in a fuel supply device. It is in.

  • the control means controls the fuel supply device.
  • the present invention also provides a control method for an engine that obtains power by burning a mixture of air and fuel in a combustion chamber.
  • the control method includes a step of supplying fuel from a fuel supply device to a fuel injection valve.
  • the fuel supply device includes a primary supply device and a secondary supply device.
  • the secondary supply device further pressurizes the fuel delivered from the primary supply device at a predetermined pressure and supplies the fuel to the fuel injection valve.
  • the control method further includes directly injecting the pressurized fuel from the fuel injection valve into the combustion chamber, and when the secondary supply device has an abnormality, the fuel injection valve uses the pressure of the fuel delivered from the primary supply device.
  • the step of stopping the operation of the secondary supply device so as to perform fuel injection, and the step of forming only a mixture that does not induce misfire in the combustion chamber when the drive of the secondary supply device is stopped are performed. Prepare. When the secondary supply is deactivated, only the mixture which does not cause a misfire! ⁇ Mixtures that form in the combustion chamber and cause a misfire are not formed in the combustion chamber. Therefore, the mixture in the combustion chamber is reliably ignited, and the unburned mixture is not discharged from the combustion chamber.

r =QXKP RXA ··· ( 1 )
Qmax= (6 0000/N E) X (θΖ36 0° ) Z (KP R XA)
