Definitions
- Porous materials, air filter media, air filter units and support materials for air filter media are Porous materials, air filter media, air filter units and support materials for air filter media
- the present invention relates to a porous material, an air filter medium, an air filter unit, and a support material for an air filter medium, and more particularly to an air filter medium including a polytetrafluoroethylene porous membrane and a gas-permeable support material, and the filter medium.
- the present invention relates to an air filter unit incorporating therein, and a support material for an air filter medium.
- a porous film of polytetrafluoroethylene (hereinafter, referred to as “PTFE”) has been proposed (see, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 5-220217).
- PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene
- the membrane itself is thin, so to prevent damage and pinholes, use a thermoplastic material such as a spunbonded nonwoven fabric using long fibers with a core-sheath structure on both sides of the porous PTFE membrane. It has also been proposed to layer and protect the material (see JP-A-6-218899).
- TOC total organic carbon
- the TOC generated from the prior art air filter media disclosed in the above-mentioned gazettes can become a non-negligible level in a clean room for manufacturing semiconductors and liquid crystals with an ever-increasing degree of integration. is there.
- the TOC can be reduced by using only polyester as the material of the gas-permeable supporting material laminated on the porous PTFE membrane.
- a polyester breathable support material such as a polyethylene terephthalate nonwoven fabric, It is difficult to adhere (heat seal) directly to the porous PTFE membrane while maintaining sufficient air permeability (while maintaining low pressure loss).
- the present inventors have found that the pores of the porous PTFE membrane are blocked by the adhesive, and the collection efficiency of the air filter medium decreases, and the pressure loss increases. It has also been found that the PTFE porous membrane and the supporting material may not be sufficiently bonded.
- One object of the present invention is to provide a hot mesolete adhesive between a porous PTFE membrane and a gas permeable porous membrane so that the collection efficiency is maintained high and the pressure loss does not increase as compared with the case of hot and hot fusion.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an air filter medium formed by bonding with an agent.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an air filter unit using such an air filter medium, and a support material for such an air filter medium.
- the above object has a polytetrafluoroethylene porous membrane and a gas-permeable supporting material laminated on at least one surface of the porous membrane.
- a gas-permeable supporting material Independent of the breathable support material Oi-like hot melt adhesive and perforated bonded via at least one hot melt adhesive selected from the group consisting of ⁇ S-like hot melt adhesive connected by knots Material,
- An air filter unit comprising the filter, the air filter medium of the present invention attached to the support, and
- Consists of at least one hot-melt adhesive selected from the group consisting of an air-permeable supporting material and an independent fibrous hot-melt adhesive applied to at least a part of its surface and a SSi-like hot menoleto adhesive connected by a knot Air filter Support material for filter media
- the porous material of the present invention and the PTFE porous membrane used for the air filter medium are not particularly limited, and known ones can be used. Above all, performance such as trapping efficiency of airborne particulates and pressure loss required for clean rooms for manufacturing semiconductors and liquid crystals and filter units used in these manufacturing equipment (HEP A filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter), A stretched PTFE porous membrane that can achieve a UL PA filter (Ultra Low Penetration Air Filter) or better performance is preferred.

- the pressure loss when passing air at a flow rate of 5.3 cmZ seconds is in the range of 100 to 100 Opa, and the particle diameter is 0.10 to 0.12 ⁇ m.
- a porous PTFE membrane with a test particle collection efficiency of 99.0% or more is preferred.
- the porous PTFE membrane used in the present invention can be easily produced by a known production method. For example, it can be obtained by extruding a PTFE fine powder together with an extrusion aid and paste to obtain a tape by rolling, and then stretching the tape in a biaxial direction after being unbaked or semi-baked. Details of such a production method are described in JP-A-5-202217, WO 94/16802 and the like.

If the basis weight exceeds 100 g / m 2 , when the filter medium is processed into, for example, a pleated air filter, it is difficult to add (for example, hard to fold), and the cost tends to be high.
- a nonwoven fabric using short Ht must be passed through a card in order to open the fiber, and an oil agent is inevitably applied to the surface of the nonwoven fabric in order to maintain the processability. In this case, use the nonwoven fabric after removing the oil.
- Non-woven fabrics using short fibers are manufactured by the needle punch method, It can be manufactured by the water jet method, stitch bond method, thermal bond method, resin bond method, etc.
- the air-permeable supporting material may be a flame-retardant air-permeable supporting material.
