Abstract

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé qui permettent à un utilisateur de collecter à partir d'un document ou d'un fichier global, en sus d'autres éléments, des éléments d'information fragmentés (c'est-à-dire des sous-éléments d'information) intéressant l'utilisateur. De plus, une base de données contextuelle est créée à l'intention de l'utilisateur qui comprend les éléments collectés, des fichiers associés auxdits éléments et des méta-données incluant des mots-clés associés aux éléments. La base de données contextuelle est interrogée aux fins de générer un historique contextuel en réponse à des sélections effectuées par l'utilisateur ou à des mots entrés par un utilisateur. Cet historique contextuel est utilisé pour améliorer la recherche et pour sélectionner des annonces publicitaires ciblées en vue de leur présentation à l'utilisateur sur la base des informations actives de l'utilisateur.
