Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé pour générer des variations de pression magnétique intenses et brèves, prédéterminées et contrôlées, pouvant être isentropiques au sein d'un échantillon (23) de matériau solide. Une cellule électromagnétique (1) comprend une ligne plate parallèle de matériau conducteur comprenant deux branches (4, 5) en forme de plaques planes, de mêmes formes et dimensions, séparées l'une de l'autre d'une distance inférieure ou égale a 3mm, dont l'une (4) porte l'échantillon (23) fixé rigidement sur cette branche (4), ces deux branches (4, 5) étant reliées électriquement l'une de l'autre par une bande de jonction (7) d'extrémité, et électriquement reliées, à l'opposé de la bande de jonction (7) d'extrémité, à des moyens (2, 3) de génération d'impulsions de courant électrique, de façon à permettre l'établissement en moins de 500ns d'un courant électrique circulant dans la cellule électromagnétique (1).
