Definitions
- Socket The present invention relates to a socket, in particular an earthed socket according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Sockets are available in a wide variety of designs. However, the purpose of each socket is always the same, namely to connect electrical connection lines to electrical consumers such as electrically operated machines.
- Commercial sockets for use in distributor housings have a housing which comprises a box-shaped housing part and a front housing part.
- the can-shaped housing part forms, together with the front housing part, chambers which contain means for fastening the electrical connection lines in the socket, as well as contact components which act as an electrically conductive connection between the electrical connection lines and the contact pins of a plug of a power consumer.
- connection lines can be provided per potential, one or more of which can be used for looping through the lines for subsequent sockets.
- the number or the size of the means for fastening the electrical connection lines in the socket is also determined by the number of connection lines.
- connection lines Several design variants are known here. A rough distinction is made between fasteners with screws and screwless fasteners. The former have the major disadvantage that the connecting lines are only very cumbersome to be mounted using a screwdriver, while the screwless fastening variant uses spring-loaded terminals that press the electrical connection cables against the corresponding contact components within the socket housing.
- the advantage of the screwless connection technology is the simple way of installing the electrical connection cables at the socket, which can also be done much faster. It is therefore quite common to connect three, six or more electrical cables (connecting cables and loop-through cables for three potentials) to one socket. Thanks to the screwless connection technology, this can be done in a much shorter time than would be possible by screwing on the connection cables.
- Socket housing over the outer surface of the box-shaped housing part.
- the socket according to the invention has a high degree of flexibility.
- the electrical connection cables can be fed in from behind or from the side or from both directions.
- Fig.l is an axonometric view of an outlet according to the invention.
- connection terminal 2 shows an axonometric view of a connection terminal for use in a socket according to the invention
- FIG. 3 shows an axonometric view of another embodiment of a connection terminal with a clamped electrical connection line for use in a socket according to the invention
- FIG. 6 shows an interior view of the can-shaped housing part 7 shows a section through an outlet according to the invention for rear connection along the line AA from FIG
- FIG. 8 shows a section through a socket according to the invention for lateral connection along the line BB from FIG. 9
- FIG. 10 shows a view of a socket housing installed in a distributor housing.
- the socket housing 1 consists of a front housing part 2 and a box-shaped base part 3. The two parts are connected to one another via locking slots 4 and corresponding locking hooks 17.
- the base part 3 has connection openings 9 on its end face opposite the front housing part.
- the electrical connection lines can be guided into the interior of the socket housing 1 via these connection openings 9, where they are clamped against a contact component 8 by means of resilient connection terminals 7 (see FIG. 5).
- the contact component (s) 8 are in turn arranged in a contactable manner with one or the two contact pins of a plug (not shown) which are guided into the interior of the socket housing part 1 via the front housing part 2.
- the base part 3 has additional connection openings ⁇ , which are arranged on the lateral surface 6 of the base part 3.
- the electrical connection lines can thus also be routed into the interior of the socket housing 1 via these connection openings 6.
- the base part 3 is further divided into several chambers 10, which are separated, for example, by partitions 15 (see FIG. 6). Each chamber 10 can accommodate one or more resilient connection terminals 7. These are included optionally aligned so that they can either clamp an electrical connection line, which can be connected to the inside of the socket housing 1, via the connection openings 6 arranged in the lateral surface 5 of the base part 3 or an electrical connection line, which can be routed via the connection openings 9 arranged on the front side according to the invention.
- connection opening 6 9 An actuation opening 12 is also assigned to each connection opening 6, 9. This serves to insert a pointed object, for example a screwdriver, which brings the resilient connection terminals into the working position so that the electrical connection lines can be inserted and these are immediately clamped by the connection terminals.
- a pointed object for example a screwdriver
- 4 a and 4 b show corresponding units: resilient connection terminal 7 - contact component 8.
- the different orientations give an example of how these units can be arranged in the chambers 10 in order to implement the different connection directions.
- Fig. 5 shows for better understanding how electrical leads 13 from the resilient
- Terminals 7 are clamped against a contact component 8.
- 7 shows a sectional view through a socket according to the invention with connection openings 9 in the end face 11 of the base part 3.
- the orientation of the connection terminal 7 and the contact component 8 is such that the electrical connection lines are supplied via the connection openings 9 in the end face 11 of the base part 3 is possible.
- connection openings 6 in the lateral surface 5 of the base part 3.
- FIG. 10 shows a sectional view through a simple distributor housing in which the socket (s) according to the invention is (are) installed.
- a thick wall thickness 16 of the distributor housing obstructs or prevents access to the connection openings 6 arranged on the jacket side in the base part 3.
- the wall thickness of the distributor housing has no influence on the access to the connection openings.
