Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung thermoplastischer Kunststoffe mit Anteilen nativer Fasern und verbesserten mechanischen Eigenschaften und ist insbesondere geeignet Granulate von derartig modifizierten Kunststoffen als Halbzeug für im Spritzgiessverfahren hergestellte Produkte zu erzeugen. Dabei werden native Fasern in Form von Fadenabschnitten, Faser-Pellets, Faser-Prepegs, Faser-Granulate oder kleinen Gewebeabschnitten verwendet. Die Fasern werden einer Mischkammer zugeführt und einem Polymer oder Polymerengemisch in einem Extruder, bei dem die Steigung der Knetschnecke um 10 bis 50 % geringer als bei Knetschnecken für die Beimischung von Glasfasern ausgeführt ist, mit einer Temperatur, die 1 bis 5 °C über dem Schmelzpunkt des modifizierten Polymers oder Polymerengemisches liegt, aufgeschmolzen und gemischt. Das Faser-Polymergemisch verlässt bereits nach einer Verweilzeit von 2,0 - 3,0 Minuten seit Beginn der Beimischung der Fasern zu einen oder vorzugsweise mehreren Strängen die Mischeinrichtung. Mit dem vorgeschlagen Verfahren ist es möglich, dem modifizierten Polymer oder Polymerengemisch zwischen 4 und 30 % native Fasern berechnet auf das Endprodukt beigemischt werden.
