Abstract

The invention provides a novel process for purifying4-alkoxystyrene polymers by slurrying the crude polymerin methanol. After rigorous stirring, the purified polymer is removed by centrifugation, filtration or decantation. The process is repeated as long as necessary to remove by-products and low molecular weight materials.
