Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés et des dispositifs permettant de coupler un ordinateur local et un poste téléphonique à un réseau local d'entreprise (RLE) et à un système PBX à distance via une liaison de données unique. A l'extrémité locale, le dispositif comprend un émulateur POTS couplé à un téléphone local et un sous-système ETHERNET couplé au port ETHERNET de l'ordinateur local; un moyen de multiplexage permettant le multiplexage de données destinées/provenant du sous-système ETHERNET et de l'émulateur POTS; et une liaison de données à large bande. A l'extrémité à distance, le système comprend une liaison de données à large bande; un moyen de démultiplexage permettant le démultiplexage des données ETHERNET et téléphoniques; un moyen permettant de coupler le flot de données au réseau local d'entreprise; et un moyen permettant de coupler le flot de données téléphonique au système PBX. L'invention concerne également des procédés permettant de maintenir une qualité de service pour la connexion PBX. Ces procédés consistent généralement à donner la priorité aux données PBX sur les données RLE, mais également à distribuer des jetons et à établir des priorités pour différents types de messages.
