Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de synthèse de poudre de nitrure de bore hexagonal à partir de colémanite, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend les étapes consistant à chauffer un mélange de 50 à 80 % en poids de colémanite et 20 à 50 % en poids d'acide borique, en présence d'un agent de réduction/nitruration, jusqu'à une température de 1250 à 1500 °C; à purifier, après refroidissement et désagglomération, le produit réactionnel obtenu et à recueillir, à l'issue de cette purification, du nitrure de bore hexagonal sous forme de poudre présentant une pureté supérieure à 98 %, une taille de cristallites supérieure à 600Å et un diamètre médian inférieur à 4 νm. L'invention concerne aussi la poudre de nitrure de bore.
