Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé d'impression de documents à plusieurs pages faisant appel à des processeurs d'image trame (RIP) multiples. Ce procédé consiste : à établir un profil des complexités de flux de commande et des dépendances de ressources d'une série de pages à imprimer ; à associer un profil des complexités de flux de commande et des dépendances de ressources d'une série de pages à imprimer avec un flux de commande d'impression ; et à répartir les tâches des processeurs d'image trame individuels pour chacune des pages à imprimer à un RIP particulier en fonction du profil. La répartition est de préférence effectuée de manière que les estimations de complexité ainsi que la liste de fichiers dépendants soient utilisées afin de réduire au minimum les temps d'inactivité des RIP. Une étape suivante de ramassage est effectuée, dans laquelle les sorties individuelles de chaque processeur d'image trame sont recombinées en une séquence ordonnée par page pour un moteur d'impression.
