Abstract

La présente invention concerne une machine à laver dans laquelle la cuve du tambour est montée dans le châssis de façon à permettre un mouvement vibratoire relatif entre la cuve et le châssis. L'intérieur de la cuve, qui est étanche de façon à éviter les pertes de liquide, peut admettre une pression interne supérieure ou inférieure à la pression ambiante. Le montage de cuve est constitué de jambes de force extensibles par élasticité venant entre la cuve et le châssis, ces jambes de force assurant une disposition généralement centrale de la cuve dans le châssis. Un soufflet ondulé assure une jonction hermétique entre une ouverture ronde pratiquée dans une paroi d'extrémité de la cuve et une ouverture dans une paroi adjacente du châssis. Cette dernière se referme au moyen d'une porte qui ferme hermétiquement l'ensemble. Les ondulations sont renforcées par au moins une hélice ou une spirale de renfort sous forme d'un ressort hélicoïdal, ce qui prévient l'élongation ou l'effondrement du matériau formant le manchon de soufflet par suite des augmentations ou des pertes de pression à l'intérieur de la cuve par rapport à la pression ambiante de l'extérieur de la cuve. En vue axiale, le tambour peut présenter une forme circulaire ou pseudo-éliptique. Les orifices d'admission d'eau et de détergents, ainsi qu'un orifice d'admission d'air, un orifice de sortie d'air et un raccord pour un manomètre sont disposés en une pluralité de points répartis en circonférence autour de la paroi cylindrique de la cuve. Le liquide peut être alimenté par une pompe de circulation recueillant le liquide de la cuve et le remettant en circulation sous pression de préférence tangentiellement dans la cuve. L'air entrant est réchauffé à 40 °C. Un réchauffeur est monté entre la paroi extérieure du tambour et la paroi de la cuve. Un orifice pratiqué dans le soufflet permet d'introduire, soit de l'air dans la cuve pendant l'essorage centrifuge, soit un mélange diffus de vapeur d'eau et de vapeur saturée pendant le lavage. Pendant l'essorage, l'air et l'eau sont soutirés de la cuve par une pompe aspirante, en général une pompe à venturi, de façon à maintenir pendant l'essorage une pression inférieure à la pression ambiante. Pendant le lavage, on maintient dans la cuve et le tambour une pression positive de l'ordre de 1 à 5 psi supérieure à la pression ambiante. Le tambour est pourvu de pales radiales dont le débordement sur l'extérieur du tambour favorise la distribution de l'air et du liquide, tout en diffusant les vapeurs dans la cuve. Un deuxième tambour ou panier peut être adapté à l'intérieur du premier.
