Abstract

Verfahren zur Herstellung von graphitierten Kathodenblöcken, wobei in einem Längsgraphitierungsverfahren ein carbonisierter Kathodenblock eingesetzt wird, dessen Querschnitt an den Enden des Blocks grösser ist als in der Mitte, und wobei zumindest ein Teil des graphitierten Materials an den Enden nach der Graphitierung entfernt wird, derart hergestellte Kathodenblöcke und deren Verwendung bei der elektrolytischen Herstellung von Aluminium.
