Abstract

The invention relates to a printing carrier (10) having a self-supporting separable card (20) and having at least one first covering layer (50, 70) that goes into the card (20). The first covering layer (50, 70) comprises a smooth outer edge and is placed on the printing carrier (10) without forming an edge therewith whereby being joined to the printing carrier via a joining layer (40, 60). The printing carrier (10) is provided with a punching (11) that produces a punched article (30). The joining layer (40, 60) is covered on the card (20) separated from the printing carrier (10). According to the invention, this printing carrier (10) is characterized in that the punching (11) completely cuts through the printing carrier (10) at least in sections, and that the outer edge of the card (20) separated from the printing carrier is defined by the smooth outer edge of the at least one covering layer (50, 70). The printing carrier (10), due to the covering layer (50, 70) not sharing any edges therewith, is characterized by having a very optically appealing appearance and can be easily produced using conventional machine technology, particularly label dispensers.
