Abstract
A cleaner apparatus for a screen printer having a structure that a cleaner unit (100) is transferred to a screen printing working portion, is provided. The cleaner unit (100) includes a winding roller (131), a driving roller (132), a vacuum portion (140), and an air blower (150). The cleaning apparatus includes a nozzle portion (120) where cleaning liquid can be sprayed toward the upper surface of the cleaning paper (11). Here, the nozzle portion (120) includes a tubular nozzle unit (122) having a number of spraying holes which are formed in series; an external housing (124) which is combined to enclose the tubular nozzle unit (122) and whose side section is formed of a substantially C-shaped body with the periphery of the nozzle spraying holes opened; a power transmission unit (126) having a rack (126a) and a pinion (126b), to make the external housing (124) rotate; and a cylinder (128) which runs the power transmission unit (126).

Description
CLEANER APPARATUS FOR SCREEN PRINTER
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a cleaner apparatus for a screen printer, and more particularly, to a cleaner apparatus for a screen printer in which a nozzle unit for spraying cleaning liquid on the upper portion of a sheet of cleaning paper is disposed to thereby minimize the amount of cleaning liquid used and have the cleaning liquid spread over the upper portion of the sheet of cleaning paper uniformly.
Background Art
[2] As a semiconductor industry is being developed, PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) are chiefly being produced by a SMT (Surface Mount Technology) process.
[3] A screen printer to which the present invention is applied is equipment for applying a cream-solder type solder on an exfoliated solder surface of a circuit pattern so that various components such as integrated circuit elements, resistors, and capacitors can be soldered, as a pre-processing work of a soldering work to be performed on a PCB in a SMT process.
[4] A general configuration of screen printer equipment will be schematically described below. The screen printer equipment includes a side conveyor which transfers an input PCB to a working position and discharge the worked PCB, a squeezer for squeezing cream-solder type solder put on a mask, a cleaner which cleans the lower surface of the mask after completing a screen printing work, and a working portion having a working plate and a working conveyor, which is located in the lower portion of the mask to perform a screen printing work.
[5] In the screen printer, a PCB is input by an input-end side conveyor, and transferred to the working conveyor in the central working portion to then be positioned on the upper portion of the working plate. Thereafter, an identification mark indicated on the PCB and an identification mark indicated on the mask are identified by a camera. By doing so, the solder surfaces on the PCB and solder injection holes perforated on the mask in correspondence to the solder surfaces are aligned. Then, the working conveyor is made to ascend and simultaneously the mask and the squeezer are made to descend, so that the mask and the PCB are made to closely contact each other. Thereafter, a squeezer blade is made to move back and forth so that the solder put on the mask is pushed through the solder injection holes formed on the mask. As a result, solder can be applied on the solder surfaces of the PCB. Thereafter, the solder-applied PCB is
transferred from the central working conveyor to a discharge-end side conveyor to then be discharged.
[6] After the above-described screen printing process has been completed, a cleaning process is performed, in which a cleaner apparatus is put into the lower portion of the mask, in order to wash the lower portion of the mask with a sheet of cleaning paper into which solvent used as cleaning liquid is soaked. Accordingly, the solder remaining in the lower portion of the solder injection holes on the mask is cleaned. While passing through the cleaning process, the cleaning liquid and the solder remaining in the upper portion of the sheet of cleaning paper are inhaled and removed through mesh holes on a sheet of porous cleaning paper into a vacuum portion, and then the cleaning paper is dried by an air flow. Technical Problem
[7] By the way, referring to FIG. 5, a conventional cleaner apparatus 10 includes a nozzle unit 12 for spraying cleaning liquid which is disposed and mounted below a sheet of cleaning paper 11. As a result, when the lower portion of solder injection holes 42a formed on a mask 42 is cleaned, a cleaning efficiency is lowered. That is, since the cleaning liquid which is sprayed toward the lower portion of the fibrous porous cleaning paper 11 is spread onto the upper portion of the cleaning paper 11 only by a penetration phenomenon of the cleaning paper 11, an actual distribution of cleaning liquid on the upper portion of the cleaning paper 11 cannot but be low. As a result, a cleaning efficiency of cleaning the lower portion of the mask 42 is low.
Technical Solution
[8] To solve the above problems, it is an object of the present invention to provide a cleaner apparatus for a screen printer in which a nozzle unit for spraying cleaning liquid is disposed above a sheet of cleaning paper, to thereby minimize the amount of cleaning liquid used and have the cleaning liquid spread over the upper portion of the sheet of cleaning paper uniformly.
[9] To accomplish the above objects of the present invention, according to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a cleaner apparatus for a screen printer having a structure that a cleaner unit is transferred to a screen printing working portion, and the cleaner unit comprises a winding roller for winding cleaning paper, a driving roller which drives and feeds the wound cleaning paper along a guide according to driving of a motor, a vacuum portion for inhaling cleaning liquid stained on the cleaning paper, and an air blower for drying the cleaning paper, the cleaning apparatus comprising a
nozzle portion which is mounted in the cleaner unit, for spraying cleaning liquid on a head frame of an advancement portion where the cleaner unit advances to a working position with a mask, so that cleaning liquid can be sprayed toward the upper surface of the cleaning paper. [10] Here, the nozzle portion comprises: a tubular nozzle unit having a number of spraying holes which are formed in series; an external housing which is combined to enclose the tubular nozzle unit and whose side section is formed of a substantially C- shaped body with the periphery of the nozzle spraying holes opened; a power transmission unit having a rack and a pinion, to make the external housing rotate; and a cylinder which runs the power transmission unit.

[21] Referring to FIG. 1, a screen printer to which the present invention is applied, includes a side conveyor 30 which transfers an input PCB to a working position and discharge the worked PCB, a squeezer 20 for squeezing cream-solder type solder put on a mask 42, a cleaner unit 100 which cleans the lower surface of the mask 42 after completing a screen printing work, and a working portion 40 having a working plate and a working conveyor, which is located in the lower portion of the mask 42 to perform a screen printing work, which is the same as that of general screen printer equipment.
[22] As shown in FIG. 2, the cleaner unit 100 whose body is transferred to the screen printing working portion 40 back and forth, includes a winding roller 131 for winding cleaning paper 11, a driving roller 132 which feeds the wound cleaning paper 11 along a guide according to driving of a motor, a vacuum portion 140 for inhaling cleaning liquid stained on the cleaning paper 11, and an air blower 130 for drying the cleaning paper 11, which is also same as that of the general screen printer equipment.
[23] The cleaner apparatus for a screen printer according to the present invention includes a nozzle portion 120 which is mounted in the cleaner unit 100, for spraying cleaning liquid on a head frame 162 of an advancement portion where the cleaner unit 100 advances to a working position with a mask 42, so that cleaning liquid can be sprayed toward the upper surface of the cleaning paper 11.
[24] As shown in FIG. 4, the nozzle portion 120 sprays cleaning liquid from above the cleaning paper 11, so that the cleaning liquid is distributed over the upper surface of the cleaning paper 11. Accordingly, a more excellent cleaning effect of cleaning the lower portion of the mask 42 can be obtained in comparison with the conventional case where a nozzle unit is located below the cleaning paper.
[25] F wever, since the nozzle portion 120 is positioned above the cleaning paper 11, the cleaning liquid stained on the nozzle portion during spraying may fall down during non-spraying of the chemical cleaning liquid. Accordingly, a screen printer should be designed to have a structure of preventing pollution due to drop of the above-described cleaning liquid. The present invention provides a nozzle portion to solve the above- described problems.
[26] Referring to FIGs. 2 and 3, the nozzle portion 120 includes: a tubular nozzle unit
122 having a number of spraying holes which are formed in series; an external housing 124 which is combined to enclose the tubular nozzle unit 122 and whose side section is formed of a substantially C-shaped body with the periphery of the nozzle spraying
holes of the nozzle portion 122 opened; a power transmission unit 126 having a rack 126a and a pinion 126b, to make the external housing 124 rotate; and a cylinder 128 which runs the power transmission unit 126. A reference numeral 172 denotes a solenoid valve for opening and closing the nozzle portion 122.
[27] In the nozzle portion having the above -described structure, the external housing
124 combined with the rack 126a and the pinion 126b rotates according to operation of a plunger 128a of the cylinder 128, and simultaneously the nozzle portion 122 connected with the external housing 124 also rotates. Accordingly, the spraying holes 122a of the nozzle portion 122 are directed upwards from the cleaning paper 11, or downwards toward the cleaning paper 11.
[28] Thus, during spraying cleaning liquid, the spraying holes 122a of the nozzle portion 122 are directed downwards toward the cleaning paper 11, and during non- spraying, the spraying holes 122a of the nozzle portion 122 and the opening portion 124a of the external housing 124 are directed upwards. Accordingly, the cleaning liquid dropping from the nozzle portion 122 falls down to the inner portion of the external housing 124 and kept therein, an unnecessary drop of the cleaning liquid can be prevented. The cleaning liquid kept in custody in the external housing 124 drops on the cleaning paper 11, at a time when the opening portion 124a of the external housing 124 is directed downwards, that is, the cleaning liquid is sprayed on the cleaning paper, and is applied thereon, to thereby prevent the leaning liquid from falling down on an undesired portion and staining it.
[29] As described above, the present invention has been described with respect to a particularly preferred embodiment. Fbwever, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and it is possible for one who has an ordinary skill in the art to make various modifications and variations, without departing off the spirit of the present invention.
[30] Meanwhile, even in the case that the spraying holes 122a of the nozzle portion 122 is fixed at a direction directing toward the cleaning paper 11 and only external housing 124 is made to rotate, the cleaning liquid flowing down from the nozzle portion 122 is received in the inner portion of the external housing 124. Accordingly, drop of the cleaning liquid can be prevented during non-spraying of the cleaning liquid.
Industrial Applicability
[31] As described above, the present invention has a nozzle structure of spraying cleaning liquid on the upper portion of cleaning paper. Thus, cleaning liquid is effectively applied on the cleaning paper. As a result, a cleaning effect of cleaning
remaining solder stained on a mask is more excellent than that of a cleaner apparatus having a conventional nozzle structure. Also, stain and chemical corrosion of the cleaner apparatus which may occur due to drop of cleaning liquid down to the lower portion of the cleaner apparatus by the external housing of the nozzle portion, can be prevented.
[32] Thus, a cleaner apparatus for a screen printer can be effectively used in the field of producing PCBs.

[1] A cleaner apparatus for a screen printer having a structure that a cleaner unit
