Abstract

L'invention concerne un système permettant de partager des systèmes de fichiers en mémoire morte, tandis que parallèlement il permet de fournir à chaque client du système de fichiers en mémoire morte la capacité d'écrire sur son propre magasin de données. Des fichiers peuvent se trouver soit sur un système de fichiers de référentiel persistant en mémoire morte, soit sur un système de fichiers de recouvrement persistant inscriptible. Cette invention a aussi trait à un dispositif de paradigme de « partage optimiste » selon lequel, par défaut, tout ce qui se trouve sur le système de fichier est estimé être en mémoire morte. Si une tentative est effectuée pour modifier un fichier - à savoir, une copie privée est nécessaire - l'occurrence de l'efficacité est généralement minimale, parce que la plupart des fichiers écrits sont petits. Même dans le cas d'un fichier important, l'occurrence de l'efficacité constitue un coût unique. L'interception des tentatives d'écrire sur des fichiers sur lesquels on ne devrait pas écrire, permet de détecter des virus et de déclencher des alertes.
