Abstract

Dans cette invention, une famille multigénique biosynthétique caroténogénique est isolée à partir de la souche DC413 de Panteoa stewartii, l'organisation génétique de cette famille multigénique correspondant à : crtE-idi-crtX-crtY-crtI-crtB-crtZ. Les gènes contenus dans la famille multigénique codent géranyl-géranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP) synthétase (CrtE), isopentényl pyrophosphate isomérase (Idi), zéaxanthine glucosyl transférase (CrtX), lycopène cyclase (CrtY), phytoène désaturase (CrtI), phytoène synthase (CrtB), et β-carotène hydroxylase (CrtZ). La famille multigénique, les gènes et leurs produits sont utilisés dans la conversion de la farnésyl-pyrophosphate en caroténoïdes. Par ailleurs, l'invention décrit les vecteurs contenant ces segments d'ADN, les cellules hôtes contenant ces vecteurs ainsi que les procédés de production de ces enzymes par la technologie de recombinaison de l'ADN dans des organismes hôtes transformés.
