This is a significant improvement, particularly in the case of an in-line four-cylinder installed transversely in a motorcycle. Due to the compact dimensions and the associated small projection area in the direction of travel, there are particular advantages with regard to aerodynamics, consumption, acceleration and top speed. Furthermore, the required space, weight and costs are reduced.
