Abstract

Bei einer tragbaren externen Datenspeichervorrichtung (1) zum Anschluss an ein Datenverarbeitungsgerät, mit einer Steuereinrichtung (2) zum Ausführen von Anwendungsprogrammen, einer Speichereinrichtung (3) zum Speichern von Daten und einer Datenschnittstelle (4) zur Übertragung der Daten auf die Speichereinrichtung (3), wird die Aufgabe, bei ihrer Ausführung datensicherheitstechnische Gesichtspunkte zu berücksichtigen, dadurch gelöst, dass in der Datenspeichervorrichtung (1) ein Virenabtast- Programm gespeichert ist, die Steuereinrichtung (2) zum Ausführen des Virenabtast-Programms ausgeführt ist und die Datenspeichervorrichtung (1) einen reservierten Bereich aufweist, in dem Virensignaturen speicherbar sind und auf den das Virenabtast-Programm zugreift. Beschrieben wird außerdem ein mit der Datenspeichervorrich- tung (1) durchzuführendes Verfahren.
