Abstract

L'invention concerne un système IP PBX qui dessert des téléphones d'entreprise par l'intermédiaire d'une connexion terrestre de réseau IP, ce système devant être étendu pour desservir des dispositifs de communication cellulaire sans fil (WCD) par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau d'accès radio (RAN) de porteuse cellulaire sans fil. Des appels reçus et émis par les dispositifs de communication cellulaire sans fil (WCD) sont reliés par le RAN de porteuse cellulaire et le système IP PBX, de sorte que ledit système IP PBX puisse commander et gérer les appels comme ce système IP PBX commanderait et gérerait les appels impliquant d'autres extensions dans le système IP PBX. Ainsi, un dispositif de communication cellulaire sans fil (WCD) devient une station client IP PBX, c'est-à-dire une extension du système IP PBX. A ce titre, le dispositif de communication cellulaire sans fil (WCD) peut bénéficier, en continu, de plusieurs des mêmes caractéristiques IP PBX dont bénéficient d'autres stations clients IP PBX plus traditionnelles (par exemple, standards téléphoniques).
