Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Elektrolysezelle zur Herstellung von flüssigem Alkalimetall aus einer flüssigen Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierung, enthaltend - ein im Wesentlichen horizontal angeordnetes Rohr (1) mit je einer Verschlussvorrichtung (4) an jedem der zwei Enden des Rohres (1), - mindestens eine in dem Rohr (1) angeordnete, an einem Ende geschlossene, an dem anderen Ende eine Öffnung (11) aufweisende Festelektrolytröhre (12), die Alkalimetallionen leitet, wobei die Festelektrolytröhre (12) in dem Rohr (1) konzentrisch angeordnet und mit der Öffnung (11) einem Ende des Rohrs (1) zugewandt ist, so dass sich ein erster Ringspalt (13) zur Führung der eine Anode bildenden flüssigen Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierung zwischen der Innenseite des Rohrs (1) und der Außenseite der Festelektrolytröhre (12) befindet, - einen Innenraum (14) in der Festelektrolytröhre (12) zur Aufnahme des als Kathode nutzbaren flüssigen Alkalimetalls, wobei die Verschlussvorrichtung (4) eine in den ersten Ringspalt (13) mündende Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierungs-Zuführung (8) oder -Abführung (9), eine Halteeinrichtung für die Festelektrolytröhre (12), eine mit dem Innenraum (14) der Festelektrolytröhre (12) verbundene Alkalimetallabführung (15) und ein Dichtungssystem zur Abdichtung des Innenraums (14) der Festelektrolytröhre (12) und der Alkalimetallabführung (15) gegen den ersten Ringspalt (13), die Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierungs-Zuführung (8)- oder -Abführung (9) und gegen die Umgebung der Elektrolysezelle umfasst.
