Definitions

  • the daytime or earth clock of the invention consists in using as a hour indicator a hand and / or a rotating dial, which rotate one day, the dial carries an index that indicates the hours in the time zone, meridian or place where we are, the minute hand turns one every sixty minutes and the second hand one turn every sixty seconds, said sphere presenting a view of the hemisphere in which we reside and having an axis of rotation perpendicular to the sphere at the pole of said hemisphere, adding darkened or blackened shutters superimposed on the lower half of the sphere, which determine or represent the darkness of the night.
  • the watch or its dial can take the conventional flat shape or a more orthodox shape that is that of a hemisphere, or slightly spherical, and even that of a dial, and can show the different geographical features of the hemisphere.
  • the darkened shutters will adopt the same curvature, running their surface parallel to that of the sphere.
  • the sphere can also be fixed.
  • the arrow or index of the hours is located in the equatorial position and in front of the geographical area of residence.
  • the time system used can go from zero to twenty-four or consist of two halves from zero to twelve.
  • the digits can be arranged every hour, every two, four or six hours, and small digits or just one signal can be applied to the intermediate hours.
  • the minute divisions may be displayed.
  • the ends of the shutters determine the time of sunrise and sunset, which is achieved manually by periodic adjustments or by a servomechanism that moves them constantly although imperceptibly; In small or electronic watches, other techniques can be used to darken the night, representing the night zones or limits using liquid quartz. A microprocessor determines and applies the night limits.
