Abstract

La présente invention concerne des micro-organismes récemment identifiés qui sont capables de produire directement de l'acide L-ascorbique (également appelé vitamine C ci-après). L'invention concerne aussi des séquences polynucléotidiques comprenant des gènes qui codent pour des protéines impliquées dans la synthèse de la vitamine C. L'invention concerne également des polynucléotides comprenant les séquences polynucléotidiques pleine longueur des nouveaux gènes et de leurs fragments, les nouveaux polypeptides codés par ces polynucléotides et leurs fragments, ainsi que leurs équivalents fonctionnels. De plus, la présente invention porte sur l'utilisation desdits polynucléotides et polypeptides en tant qu'outils biologiques pour la production de vitamine C à partir de micro-organismes, la modification desdits polynucléotides et/ou polypeptides codés ayant une incidence directe ou indirecte sur le rendement, la production et/ou l'efficacité de la production du produit de fermentation dans ledit micro-organisme. Sont également décrits des procédés/processus d'utilisation des polynucléotides et séquences polynucléotidiques modifiées pour la transformation de micro-organismes hôtes. Enfin, l'invention concerne des micro-organismes génétiquement modifiés et leur utilisation pour la production directe de vitamine C.
