Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Energieabsorptionsvorrichtung mit einem ersten hohlen Längsabschnitt (2) erster Querschnittsweite (5) und einem zweiten hohlen Längsabschnitt (3) zweiter Querschnittsweite (6) sowie einem gestülpten Übergangsbereich (4) zwischen den hohlen Längsabschnitten. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Verfahren zum Herstellen einer einstückigen Energieabsorptionsvorrichtuπg. Um eine Energieabsorptionsvorrichtung mit gut bestimmbarem Verformungsverhalten zu schaffen, wird der zweite hohle Längsabschnitt mit einer höheren Festigkeit ausgeführt als der erste hohle Längsabschnitt. Beim erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren zum Herstellen einer Energieabsorptionsvorrichtung wird ein Rohr erster Querschnittsweite abschnittsweise auf die zweite Querschnittsweite unter Ausbildung der hohlen Längsabschnitte verengt und das Rohr wird gestaucht, wodurch der gestülpte Übergangsbereich ausgebildet wird.
